• Hosted by:India (for the first time) through Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), Ministry of Civil Aviation.
• Venue & Date:New Delhi, 28–31 October 2025. Workshop: 28–29 Oct.
• Inaugurated by:Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu.
• Participants:~90 representatives from ICAO and Asia-Pacific investigation authorities.
• Aim:Strengthen cooperation, expertise sharing, and processes in aircraft accident investigation.
• ICAO:Formed in 1947; HQ – Montreal, Canada; specialized agency of UN.

2. 8th International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly

• Venue:Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
• Keynote:President Droupadi Murmu.
• Inaugural Address:Union Minister Pralhad Joshi (New & Renewable Energy).
• Participants:Representatives from 124 nations, 40+ ministers.
• Focus:Global cooperation for solar energy, reviewing progress, overcoming challenges.
• India’s achievements:
  • 50% installed power capacity from non-fossil fuel sources(2030 goal met 5 years early).
  • 3rd-largestsolar producer; 2nd-fastest-growing renewable market.
• ISA:124 member/signatory countries promoting global access to clean solar energy.

🏛️ Government Schemes & Initiatives

3. Maha MedTech Mission (MAHA-MedTech)

• Launched by:Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) with ICMR and Gates Foundation.
• Aim:Boost India’s medical technology innovation, cut import reliance, and ensure affordable access.
• Funding:₹5–25 crore per project; up to ₹50 crore in exceptional cases.
• Beneficiaries:Academia, R&D institutions, startups, MSMEs, MedTech industry.
• Support Mechanisms:
  • Patent Mitra– IP protection & tech transfer.
  • MedTech Mitra– Regulatory guidance.
  • Clinical Trial Network– Validation & evidence.
  • Industry mentorship.

4. Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) – 1st Batch Approved

• Investment Approved:₹5,532 crore for 7 projects (Tamil Nadu – 5, Andhra Pradesh – 1, Madhya Pradesh – 1).
• Expected Output:₹36,559 crore worth of components; 5,100+ direct jobs.
• Aim:Make India self-reliant in HDI PCBs, camera modules, CCL, polypropylene films.
• Applications Received:249 proposals worth ₹1.15 lakh crore; 1.42 lakh potential jobs.
• Significance:
  • Meets 20%of India’s PCB demand.
  • First domestic CCL manufacturing
  • Complements India Semiconductor Missionand PLI Scheme.

🚀 Space & IT

5. ISRO’s LVM3–M5 Mission with CMS-03 Satellite

• Vehicle:India’s heaviest rocket – LVM3.
• Rollout Date:26 Oct 2025; Launch: 2 Nov 2025 from Sriharikota.
• Payload:CMS-03, a 4,400 kg advanced multi-band communication satellite – heaviest launched from Indian soil.
• Orbit:Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).
• Purpose:Enhance communication coverage for civil, strategic, and maritime users.
• Previous Milestone:LVM3 launched Chandrayaan-3 (2023) to the Moon’s south pole.

6. Cyclone Montha Approaches Andhra Pradesh Coast

• Current Position:230 km SSE of Machilipatnam, 310 km SSE of Kakinada.
• Movement:NW at 17 km/h; likely to intensify into a Severe Cyclonic Storm on 28 Oct.
• Expected Landfall:Near Kakinada with winds up to 110 km/h.
• Alerts:Red Alert – Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Odisha coasts.
• Precautions:35,000 people evacuated; schools closed in 8 Odisha districts.
• Central Support:PM Narendra Modi assured full assistance.
• IMD Advisory:Fishermen to avoid sea till 29 Oct.

7. 2nd Phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls

• Announced by:Election Commission of India (ECI).
• Coverage:12 States/UTs – incl. UP, WB, Gujarat, TN, Kerala, MP, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Rajasthan, Puducherry, A&N, Lakshadweep.
• Chief Election Commissioner:Gyanesh Kumar.
• Objective:Ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity of voter rolls.
• Voters Covered:51 crore.
• Timeline:
  • Voter lists frozen – 27 Oct.
  • Enumeration – 4 Nov to 4 Dec.
  • Draft rolls – 9 Dec.
  • Final rolls – 7 Feb 2026.
• Special Exemptions:Voters in 2003 rolls (or children of those voters) need no extra ID proof.

8. INS Ikshak – Indigenous Survey Vessel

• Commissioning Date:6 Dec 2025 at Kochi Naval Base.
• Commissioned by:Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, CNS.
• Built by:Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.
• Features & Role:
  • Advanced survey vesselfor oceanographic & humanitarian missions.
  • Can be converted into hospital ship.
  • First Navy survey vesselwith separate accommodation for women officers.

• Theme:“Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility.”
• Objective:Promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in governance.
• Launch:Integrity pledge by officials across Ministries, PSUs, Banks.
• Led by:CVC Praveen Kumar Srivastava and Vigilance Commissioner A. S. Rajeev.
• Observed:Annually in the last week of October, coinciding with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary.
