1. Ollanta Humala Sentenced (Peru)
- Ex-Peru President Ollanta Humala sentenced to 15 years for money laundering.
- Received illegal funds from Venezuela & Brazilian firm Odebrecht.
- His wife Nadine Heredia also sentenced; fled to Brazil after asylum approval.
- Peru’s first president probed in Odebrecht case.
2. Baisakhi Celebrated in Washington Capitol (USA)
- First-ever Baisakhi celebration held at Washington State Capitol, Olympia.
- Hosted by Consulate General of India, Seattle.
- April 14th declared Baisakhi Day in several WA counties.
- Celebrates 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji & founding of Khalsa Panth (1699).
3. G4 Nations Oppose Religion-Based UN Security Council Seats
- India, Brazil, Germany & Japan (G4) reject religion-based seat proposal.
- India stresses regional representation, not religion.
- Turkey & OIC support Islamic nation’s permanent seat.

4. Cricket in 2028 LA Olympics
- Cricket (T20 format) returns to Olympics after 1900.
