The 26th Hornbill Festival of Nagalandconcluded on 10 December at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
Known as the “Festival of Festivals”, it is celebrated annually from 1–10 December.
The festival showcased 10 days of cultural performances, traditional sports, indigenous games, ethnic cuisines and handicrafts.
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhallainaugurated the festival; CM Neiphiu Rio hosted it on December 1.
Austria, France, Ireland, Malta, Switzerland and the UKwere partner countries; Arunachal Pradesh was the State Partner.
The closing ceremony featured a traditional bonfire lighting, marking the formal end.

Germanywon a record-extending 8th FIH Men’s Junior World Cup title.
Germany defeated Spain 3–2 in a shoot-outafter a 1–1 draw in regulation time.
The final was held in Chennaion 10 December.
Goalkeeper Jasper Ditzerplayed a decisive role with match-winning saves.
India won the bronze medalby defeating Argentina 4–2, marking their first bronze in the tournament.

Supriya Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu, received the UNEP Champions of the Earth Award 2025.
She was recognised for leadership in climate mitigation, adaptation and heat resilience.
UNEP praised her integration of nature-based solutionsand low-tech & high-tech interventions.
She emphasised that climate action must become a people’s movement.

Union Minister C.R. Patillaunched the Sujalam Bharat App on 10 December.
The app aims to transform rural drinking water governanceunder the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Developed with BISAG-N, it provides geo-referencing, monitoring and real-time data.
Each scheme will receive a unique Sujal Village ID.
Integrated with PM Gati Shakti GIS, the platform supports long-term water sustainability.

GSVand Amazon signed an MoU to promote knowledge sharing and curriculum development.
An Amazon Chair Professorshipwill be established for warehousing research.
GSV operates under the Ministry of Railwaysand covers all transport and logistics sectors.

India and Italy signed the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation protocol.
The agreement strengthens cooperation in trade, investment, research and innovation.
Italy aims to achieve €700 billion exports by 2027, viewing India as a key partner.

Shivraj Patil, former Union Home Minister and senior Congress leader, passed away at 91.
He served as 10th Speaker of Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister (2004–2008), and Governor of Punjab.
He was elected to the Lok Sabha seven timesfrom Latur.

President Droupadi Murmulaunched and laid foundation stones for projects worth ₹1,387 crore in Imphal.
She inaugurated 12 projects (₹207 crore)and laid foundations for 14 projects (₹1,180 crore).
She visited Mapal Kangjeibung polo groundand attended 86th Nupi Lal Day, commemorating women-led freedom movements.

India launched its first hydrogen fuel cell passenger vesselin Varanasi.
The vessel was built by Cochin Shipyard Ltdand operated by IWAI.
It runs on hydrogen fuel cells, batteries and solar power, emitting only water.
The vessel can carry 50 passengers, operate for 8 hours, and has zero emissions.
