1) Reliance unveils India’s 1st hydrogen combustion engine for heavy duty
- Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on 6 February 2023, unveiled India’s first Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine technology solution for heavy duty trucks.
- It was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the India Energy Week in Bangalore.
- The Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2ICE) powered trucks will emit near zero emissions and reduce noise.
2) Indian Railways launches WhatsApp food delivery facility ‘Zoop’
- The Indian Railways has started WhatsApp Communication “Zoop’ for railway passengers to order food through e-catering services to make e-catering services more customer-centric.
- Passengers will be able to order food online through WhatsApp while undertaking a journey by using their PNR number.
- Zoop App assists passengers to order food delivery in trains from restaurants at railway stations.
3) Union govt extends Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban scheme up to 2024
- Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri announced that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) scheme has been extended up to 2024.
- The central government has sanctioned Rs 2 lakh crore under the scheme, out of which Rs 1.36 lakh crore has been released so far.
- Around 123 lakh houses were sanctioned under the PMAY-U during the financial year 2021-22.
4) Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U)
- It was launched on 25 June 2015 by the Govt of India and it is being implemented by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
- It aims to provide pucca houses to all eligible beneficiaries by 2022.
- Around 1.12 crore houses are to be constructed under the scheme.
- It also promotes Woman Empowerment by providing the ownership of houses in the name of a female member or in joint names.
5) ITBP won the title of National Ice Hockey Championship 2023
- ITBP’s central ice hockey team won the12th edition of the 2023 IHAI National Ice Hockey Championship for men in February 2023.
- The championship was organized by the Ice Hockey Association of India (IHAI) in Ladakh, Leh.
- The ITBP team won the title for the third consecutive time by defeating Ladakh Scouts in the final with a score of 1-0.
6) Know About: Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
- It is a border patrol organization of India deployed along its borders with Tibet Autonomous Region.
- It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces, established in 1962 in the aftermath of the Sino-Indian War of 1962.
- Its major training center is located in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.

7) NTPC hosts G20 international seminar on CCUS
- NTPC Ltd. hosted a seminar on ‘Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage’ at the First Energy Transitions Working Group meeting in Bengaluru.
- The study Report on “Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS): Technology Gaps and International Collaboration” was unveiled during the event.
- A 3D model of NTPC’s flagship project on Methanol Synthesis from Flue Gas CO2 was displayed at the event.
8) The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
- It is an intergovernmental organization with 38 member countries, founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade.
- It is a forum whose member countries describe themselves as committed to democracy and the market economy.
