1) Noida to become aviation hub of U.P.
- The Yogi Adityanath government is likely to launch a new scheme this month to promote the aviation industry in the state.
- The state government has earmarked 1000 acres of land near Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) in Jewar for the project.
- Under this project, facilities for assembling and manufacturing aircraft parts, as well as complete airplanes, will be established.
2) CREST UNVEILING CEREMONY OF INDIAN NAVY’S PROJECT 15B WARSHIP “SURAT”
- The Crest of Indian Navy’s latest, indigenous under-construction, guided missile destroyer, ‘Surat’, is scheduled to be unveiled by Shri Bhupendra Patel, the Chief Minister of Gujarat in presence of Adm R Hari Kumar, the Chief of the Naval Staff, at a ceremony to be held in the city of Surat.
- Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh had earlier launched this warship on 17 March 2022 at Mumbai.
3) Ahmedabad: J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha attends Achala Adhyapak Samman
- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended “Achala Adhyapak Samman” organized by Achala Education Foundation Trust in Ahmedabad.
- On the occasion, he felicitated the outstanding teachers and research scholars for their significant contribution in education sector.
- Lt Governor commended the relentless efforts and firm commitment of the Achala Education Foundation Trust.
4) Government bans Mahadev App and 21 other illegal betting platforms
- Centre has banned 22 illegal betting apps including controversial Mahadev Book.
- Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology blocked 22 illegal betting apps and websites including Mahadev Book and Reddyannaprestopro.
- The Ministry took the step on the recommendation of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
5) Vaishali, Vidit win FIDE Grand Swiss women’s and open titles for India
- R Vaishali and Vidit Gujrathi clinched the women’s and open category titles respectively in the FIDE Grand Swiss.
- While Vaishali played out a draw with Batkhuyag Mungutuul of Mongolia in the 11th and final round to bag the women’s title.
- Vidit beat Alexandr Predke of Serbia to record his seventh victory in the event and take the top spot in open section.
6) U.P. govt to fete 77 progressive farmers on Charan Singh’s birth anniv
- The Uttar Pradesh government will honour 77 progressive farmers for their good work in various fields, including organic farming, on the birth anniversary of the late PM Chaudhary Charan Singh on December 23.
- The day will be celebrated as ‘Kisan Samman Diwas’ across the state.
- Awards will be given for achievements in crops, organic farming, horticulture, and stubble management.
7) IIT Gandhinagar: Australia India Education and Skill Council meeting
- The First Australia India Education and Skill Council meeting will be held at IIT Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
- Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister for Education, Government of Australia Jason Clare will co-chair the meeting.
- The meeting will provide a platform for academic and skill experts to discuss a wide range of mutually agreed priorities..
8) 7th Edition of Ganga Utsav Celebrated With Festive Fervor
- The 7th edition of Ganga Utsav was organized by National Mission for Clean Ganga in New Delhi.
- The event also marked the release of 33rd edition of Namami Gange Magazine, the new Chacha Chaudhary series and the Voyage of Ganga Booklet, based on Ganga Pustak Parikrama in collaboration with NBT.
- Ganga Pustak Parikrama will commence its 3-month long journey from Gangotri on 7 November 2023.
9) Sunil Joliya Jinabhai of Gujarat sets new record in 3000 metre
- Gujarat’s Sunil Joliya Jinabhai made a new national games record in the steeplechase 3000m with an impressive time of 8 minutes and 37.15 seconds.
- Sanjana Sood from Haryana won Gold Medal in Shotgun Skeet (Female).
- In Lawn Bowls, Chottukumari of Jharkhand won Gold in Woman Single and Sunil Bahadur, Dinesh Kumar won Gold in Men Pairs.
10) Air pollution may increase risk of type 2 diabetes, India study finds
- Exposure to polluted air is associated with an increased risk of type-2 diabetes, according to a first study of its kind in India published in the BMJ Open Diabetes Research and Care journal.
- The study conducted in Delhi and Chennai found that inhaling air with high amounts of fine pollution particles (PM2.5) – led to high blood sugar levels and increased type-2 diabetes incidence.
11) India beat Japan 4-0 to win women’s Asian Champions Trophy hockey Cup
- Playing exhilarating hockey from the word go, an aggressive Indian women’s team crushed title holders Japan 4-0 to lift its second Asian Champions Trophy title.
- The match started 50 minutes late because of issues with the floodlights.
- India overcame the two-time champions through goals from Sangita Kumari (17th minute), Neha (46th), Laremsiami (57th) and Vandana Katariya (60th).
12) Bangladesh to host 24th Asian Archery Championships in 2025
- Bangladesh will host the 24th Asian Archery Championships in 2025 after winning by 14–10 votes in the bid at the World Archery Asia Congress held in Bangkok, Thailand.
- A total of twenty-four member countries of the Asian continent participated in the congress.
- Bangladesh and China applied for bids as host countries for the 24th Asian Archery Championship.
