1) Mukesh Ambani surpasses Gautam Adani to regain Asia’s richest spot
- Mukesh Ambani has surpassed Gautam Adani to regain the spot of Asia’s and India’s richest man.
- As per Bloomberg Billionaire index, RIL Chairman Ambani has gained the eighth spot in the world’s richest as his net worth stands at $99.7 billion.
- Whereas, Adani Group’s Chairman Gautam Adani’s net worth is $98.7 billion, placing him in the ninth spot in the index.
2) ‘eSanjeevani’ integrated with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission
- The National Health Authority (NHA) has announced the successful integration of eSanjeevani with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
- This integration allows the existing users of eSanjeevani to easily create their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) and use it to link and manage their existing health records.
- eSanjeevani is the telemedicine service of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
3) India, Canada ink pact for stronger cooperation on climate action
- India and Canada have signed an agreement to increase bilateral cooperation on climate action, environmental protection and conservation.
- Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and his Canadian counterpart Steven Guilbeault signed the MoU on the margins of the Stockholm+50 meeting
- The meeting is being held to commemorate 50 years of the Stockholm Conference-the 1st UN conference on environment
4) Indian American Harini Logan wins Scripps National Spelling Bee 2022
- Harini Logan, an Indian origin girl, won the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee on 3 June 2022.
- The Class 8 student from Texas won the competition by spelling more words correctly in a spell-off, the Bee’s first since its inception in 1925.
- She spelled 21 words correctly, her opponent could only manage 15, leading to her win.
5) Ashwani Bhatia takes charge as whole-time member at SEBI
- Ashwani Bhatia has taken charge as a whole time member (WTM) at Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
- Bhatia was previously the Managing Director of State Bank of India (SBI).
- Bhatia has been appointed for an initial period of three years from the date of assuming charge.
- In August 2020, he was elevated as MD of SBI.
- Before that, he was working as the MD of SBI Mutual Fund.
6) Kiya.ai launches India’s first banking metaverse Kiyaverse
- ai, on 2 June 2022 announced the launch of India’s first-ever banking metaverse – Kiyaverse.
- Through Kiyaverse, consumers would be able to transact, access banking information and avail various banking products virtually from the comfort of their homes.
- ai is a digital solutions provider serving financial institutions and government globally.
7) Punjab and Sind Bank MD and CEO S Krishnan retires
- Punjab and Sind Bank Limited has announced that its MD and CEO S Krishnan has retired from the role, with effect from May 31, 2022.
- He took charge as the MD and CEO on 4th September 2020.
- Prior to joining the bank, Krishnan was Executive Director of Syndicate Bank and Canara Bank.
- He started his carrier in Indian Bank in January 1983.
8) POSOCO signs MoU with IMD for better electricity grid management
- National grid operator Power System Operation Corporation (POSOCO) on 3 June 2022 signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
- This MoU has been signed for cooperation in the areas of electricity grid management.
- The last MoU between POSOCO and IMD was signed on 18 May 2015.
9) LXME appoints Jasmin B Gupta as co-founder and CEO
- Financial platform LXME, has announced the appointment of Jasmin B Gupta as co-founder and CEO.
- Gupta will spearhead the team towards creating India’s first neo-bank for women.
- LXME is India’s 1st financial planning platform for women.
- It was founded in 2018 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
10) Khelo India Youth Games-2021 to begin on 4 June in Haryana
- Haryana will host the Khelo India Youth Games 2021 from 4 June 2022.
- It would continue till June 13, 2022.
- The Games, to take place for the U-18 age category, will be held in Shahbad, Ambala, Chandigarh, and Delhi apart from Panchkula.
- Around 8500 players will participate in these games.
- It will feature a total of 25 sports, including 5 indigenous games of India.

11) Freedom fighter Anjalai Ponnusamy passes away
- Freedom fighter Anjalai Ponnusamy, who fought for India’s independence from colonial Britain, passed away on 31 May 2022, aged 102.
- Anjalai was once a soldier who served under the command of Netaji Bose.
- She had joined the Rani of Jhansi Regiment, the women’s unit of the INA, during the second World War and fought for India’s freedom from the British.
12) Anjum Moudgil wins silver medal at ISSF Shooting World Cup 2022
- Indian Olympian Anjum Moudgil won a silver medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup 2022 held in Baku, Azerbaijan on 3 June 2022.
- It is Anjum’s second individual World Cup silver in the event.
- With this win, India has climbed to the third spot on the medal tally.
- The world cup, which started on 27 May 2022 will go on till 7 June 2022.
13) Tata Projects to construct Noida International Airport at Jewar
- Tata Group’s infrastructure and construction arm, Tata Projects, has bagged the contract to construct the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, in UP.
- As part of the contract, Tata Projects will construct the terminal, runway, airside infrastructure, roads, utilities, landside facilities and other ancillary buildings at the airport.
- It is expected to be functional by 2024.
14) IPS Zulfiquar Hasan appointed as the new Director General of BCAS
- Senior IPS officer, Zulfiquar Hasan has been appointed as the new Director-General of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
- West Bengal-cadre 1988-batch IPS officer, Zulfiquar Hasan has been serving as the Special Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Delhi.
- The BCAS is tasked with framing security-related protocols for aviation operations.
15) World’s largest plant discovered by researchers in Australia
- Scientists have discovered the world’s largest plant growing underwater in Western Australia.
- According to a study published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, the plant, discovered at Shark Bay, is believed to span as much as 200 square kilometres.
- The plant is a single clone of “Posidonia australis” seagrass and the largest known example of a clone in any environment on Earth.
16) Sagarmala Young Professional scheme formulated by Shipping Ministry
- Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has formulated the Sagarmala Young Professional scheme.
- It will engage talented, forward-thinking, and dynamic young professionals in various divisions of the Ministry.
- This scheme focuses on active on-the-ground learning for young professionals.
- Initially, more than 25 young professionals will be hired under this scheme.
