3) GST collection hits ₹1.72 lakh crore in January, surging 10% YOY

  • India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue witnessed a remarkable 10.4% Year-on-Year surge in January 2024, soaring to an outstanding ₹1,72,129 crore – the second-highest collection ever recorded.
  • This achievement marks the third time in the fiscal year 2023-24 that the 1.7 lakh crore benchmark has been surpassed, reflecting positive economic momentum and recovery.

6) President Murmu to illuminate Surajkund International Crafts Mela

  • The Surajkund Mela 2024 is scheduled to commence on February 02 and will run until February 18.
  • The 37th Surajkund Mela 2024 is scheduled to take place in Surajkund, Faridabad.
  • The festival will commence with a grand inauguration, presided over by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.
