1) A Book “Crunch Time:Narendra Modi’s National Security Crises” released
- A new book authored by Dr Sreeram Chaulia titled “Crunch Time: Narendra Modi’s National Security Crises” was released on March 31 by the Minister of State for External Affairs, Meenakshi Lekhi.
- He is the Dean of the Jindal School of International Affairs of OP Jindal Global University
- The book emphasises the decision taken during security threats posed by India’s external adversaries.
2) World Autism Awareness Day: 02 April 2022
- World Autism Awareness Day is observed on 2 April to raise awareness about autism.
- The annual event aims to spread awareness of autism and emphasizes the resilience of those affected by the disorder.
- The 2022 theme for World Autism Awareness Day is “Inclusive Quality Education for All”
- World Autism Awareness Day was held for the first time in 2008.
3) Jim Carrey announces retirement from Acting and Hollywood
- Veteran actor Jim Carrey is renowned for his comic roles.
- He has announced his retirement from his acting carrier on 01 April 22.
- His last movie “Sonic The Hedgehog 2” will be released in November 2022.
- Actor Bruce Willis also announced retirement from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia.
4) Russian FM Lavrov holds bilateral talks with S. Jaishankar in Delhi
- On 01 April 22, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also Meets PM Narendra Modi.
- In the Meeting, Russia offers India, a big discount on the purchase of 15 million barrels of oil.
- Russia offers India its flagship Urals grade at discounts of as much as $35 a barrel.
5) Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund appoints Anthony Heredia as MD and CEO
- Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund has announced the appointment of Mr Anthony Heredia as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on 1st April 2022.
- Mr Heredia will succeed Mr Ashutosh Bishnoi, who retired on 31st March 2022.
- He has more than 26 years of rich experience in the fund industry throughout his career handling a variety of leadership roles.
6) Union Sports Min launched logo, mascot & anthem of Khelo India 2021
- Governor of Karnataka Shri TC Gehlot and Union Sports Minister Shri Anurag Singh Thakur launch the logo, jersey, mascot and anthem of Khelo India University Games 2021 in Bengaluru on 01 April 22.
- Gehlot launched the logo and official mascot of the game Veera.
- While Shri Thakur launched the official jersey of the games as well as the anthem, sung by Chandan Shetty and Nikhil Joshi.
7) Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar is new NDA Commandant
- Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, AVSM, NM assumed the appointment of Commandant, National Defence Academy on 01 Apr 2022 from Air Marshal Sanjeev kapoor, AVSM, VM.
- Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 01 Jul 1988.
- His other command appointments include INS Kirpan, a missile Corvette and missile vessels during Operation Parakram.
8) EAM Jaishankar meets UK’s foreign Minister, hold talks on Roadmap-2030
- External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on 31 Mar 22 held bilateral consultations with his UK counterpart Liz Truss.
- They conducted the annual strategic review of the Roadmap 2030 which was agreed between the Prime Ministers during the India-UK Virtual Summit 2021
- Both Ministers also participated in the inaugural edition of the India-UK Strategic Futures Forum.
9) 87th Odisha (Utkal) Day: 01 April 2022
- Odisha celebrates its 87th foundation day (Odisha Day aka Utkala Dibasa) on 01 April 2022.
- It is celebrated in memory of the formation of the state as a separate state out of Bihar and Orissa Province on 1 April 1936.
- Under the British rule, Odisha was part of the Bengal presidency, which consisted of the present-day Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha.
10) Govt. approves 433.72 crs for ‘Lakshya Zero Dumpsites’ in Maharashtra
- Government of India has approved proposals for legacy waste remediation in nearly 500 cities
- To support Maharashtra in effectively managing solid waste, the centre on 30 Mar’22, has approved 3433.72 crores to remediate over 3.7 crores MT of waste.
- Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 aims to achieve the vision of Garbage Free Cities’ over the next five years.

11) PingPong Payments partners with India Sourcing Network (ISN)
- PingPong Payments has partnered with India Sourcing Network (ISN), to make borderless e-commerce on 01 April 2022.
- The move will bring greater opportunities for U.S. buyers and Indian sellers, by leveraging PingPong’s same-day payments service to create faster payment corridors.
- Ping Pong Payments was founded in 2015 with the mission of helping global e-commerce sellers.
12) Dr. S Raju Takes over as DG, Geological Survey of India
- S Raju has taken over as the Director-General of the Geological Survey of India (GSI) on 01 April 2022.
- He succeeds Shri R. S. Garkhal who superannuated on 31st March 2022.
- Prior to assuming the present post, Dr Raju was holding the post of Additional Director General and National Head, Mission-III & IV at GSI HQ.
13) Prime Minister interacts with students:5th Pariksha Pe Charcha Program
- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, interacted with students on the subject of upcoming exams in the 5th Pariksha Pe Charcha Programme
- The programme was organised at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.
- More than 75000 EMRS students and faculty of about 350 Eklavya Model Residential Schools attended the session.
- Students of grades 9th to 12th, parents, and teachers interacted with PM.

- On 31 Mar 22, HarperCollins India has published the book “the Tiger of Drass, Capt. Anuj Nayyar, 23, Kargil Hero” by Meena Nayyar and Himmat Singh Shekhawat

- Andaman and Nicobar Islands has become a Covid-19 free Union Territory on 31 Mar 22.
- This UT has zero active cases.
- No case of Covid-19 was reported on 30 Mar while a single patient recovered.
- Now, four UTs have achieved the Covid free status.
17) Doordarshan FreeDish becames largest DTH platform to reach 43 million
- As per the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, DD FreeDish has become the largest DTH platform reaching over 43 million households till March 2022.
- Prasar Bharati’s DTH service DD Free Dish is the only Free-to-Air service where the viewer doesn’t have to pay
- It only requires a small one-time investment of about 2,000 for purchasing the Doordarshan FreeDish set-top box.
18) Union Home Minister attends Sri Shivakumar Swamiji’s 115th Jayanti
- Union Minister for Home Amit Shah attended the 115th Jayanthi program of Sri Shivakumara Swamiji at the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur on 01 April’22.
- The Siddaganga mutt is a prominent religious centre for the Lingayat community
- Shivakumara Swami was an Indian humanitarian, spiritual leader and educator.
- He also founded the Sri Siddaganga Education Society
19) GST collections crosses all record of Rs 1.42 lakh crore in March 2022
- Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections for March 2022 hit an all-time high of Rs 1.42 lakh crore breaching its previous record of Rs 1.40 lakh cr
- Of the total, Central GST was Rs 25,830 crore, State GST was Rs 32,378 crore, Integrated GST was Rs 74,470 crore, and compensation cess was Rs 9,417 crore
- For FY22 total GST collections amounted to Rs 14.83 lakh crore, up 30 per cent from FY21.

21) Dwayne Bravo becomes highest wicket-taker in Indian Premier League
- Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo on 31 Mar 22 became the highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with 171 wickets to his name.
- Bravo achieved this feat during the clash against Lucknow Super Giants on 31 Mar 22 here at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
- Bravo went ahead of former Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga, who has 170 IPL wickets to his name.
