1) Ujjwala, the sparrow, as mascot for Khelo India Para Games 2023
- First-ever Khelo India Para Games 2023 logo and mascot Ujjwala were launched in New Delhi.
- ‘Ujjwala’, a sparrow, was unveiled as the official mascot of Khelo India – Para Games 2023.
- The little sparrow is a symbol of the pride of Delhi and its uniqueness portrays determination and empathy.
2) Devusinh Chauhan inaugurates Hamfest 2023 at Ahmedabad
- Union Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan inaugurated Hamfest 2023 at Science City, Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
- Ham radio helps people during natural calamities like earthquakes and cyclones.
- More than 800 Ham Radio operators from all over the country are participating in the two-day conclave.
3) Sensational Sinner steers Italy to Davis Cup glory over Australia
- Italy won the Davis Cup for the first time since 1976, defeating Australia 2-0 in the final in Malaga.
- Jannik Sinner’s dominant performance, including crushing Alex de Minaur in the second singles rubber, secured the victory.
- The victory followed Matteo Arnaldi’s hard-fought win against Alexei Popyrin.
- Sinner defeated world number one Novak Djokovic twice in one day in the semifinals.

- The Filmfare OTT Awards 2023 returned for the 4th edition.
- Darlings’ Alia Bhatt wins best actress, Manoj Bajpayee takes home best actor trophy for Ek Bandaa kaafi hai.
- The Best Series award was given to Hansal Mehta’s Scoop, starring Karishma Tanna, while Trial By Fire won the Best Series Critics.
5) Irish writer Paul Lynch wins Booker Prize for novel ‘Prophet Song’
- Irish writer Paul Lynch has won the 2023 Booker Prize for his novel ‘Prophet Song’, beating London-based Indian-origin author Chetna Maroo’s debut novel “Western Lane”, at a ceremony in London.
- Forty-six-year-old Lynch won for his novel presenting a dystopian vision of Ireland in the grips of totalitarianism, something the author describes as an attempt at radical empathy.
6) Malaysia to allow visa-free entry to Indian citizens
- Malaysia will scrap entry visa requirements for Indian citizens visiting the nation beginning the 1st of December.
- Indian nationals may stay for up to 30 days visa-free in Malaysia.
- Along with Indian citizens, Chinese nationals will also be allowed visa-free entry from December 1st.
- Malaysia is counting on extra tourist arrivals and their spending to support economic growth.
7) Vidya Pillai clinch the World 6 Red Women Championships title at Doha
- In the World 6 Red Women Snooker Championships, Vidya Pillai secured Gold to clinch the title of World Champion.
- In the final, she defeated compatriot Anupama Ramachandran by 4-1 frames, who settled for Silver.
- Vidya earlier defeated top seed Bai Yulu of China by 4-3 frames in semi-final round.
8) NIDM, TERI sign strategic partnership in disaster risk reduction
- The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to forge a strategic partnership in disaster risk reduction.
- The MOU will serve as a platform to formalise the strategic partnership and facilitate research, capacity building, and training.
9) Red Planet Day 2023: 28 November
- Red Planet Day is celebrated on November 28 as it commemorates the launch of the Spacecraft Mariner 4 by NASA in 1964, which was the first craft to ever reach Mars.
- It took almost eight full months for the craft to reach the red planet, finally performing a fly-by on July 14, 1965.
- Galileo Galilei was the first person to view Mars by using a telescope.
10) Madhya Pradesh: India’s largest Tiger reserve to be set up in Damoh
- In a significant development, Damoh district in Madhya Pradesh is set to become home to the country’s largest tiger reserve.
- The central government has issued a notification approving the proposal to merge the Noradehi Sanctuary with the Rani Durgavati Sanctuary of the Damoh district, creating a vast tiger reserve spanning 2,300 square kilometres.
11) India’s Aditi Ashok Wins Ladies European Tour Season-ending Event
- Aditi Ashok held her nerve to pull off a two-shot win over Anne Van Dam in the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana, which is the year-ending tournament on the Ladies European Tour, at Real Club de Golf Las Brisas.
- Aditi, who won the season-opener in Kenya, completed the unique feat of winning the opening and closing events of the season on the Tour.
- India’s Diksha Dagar finished seventh.
12) Uttar Pradesh declares ‘no non-veg’ day on November 25
- The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government on Friday declared November 25 as “no non-veg day” on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sadhu TL Vaswani.
- Sadhu Vaswani’s birthday on November 25 is also recognised as International Meatless Day.
- He was an educationist who started the Mira Movement, was born on November 25, 1879, in Hyderabad Sindh (now in Pakistan).
13) Centre renames Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres
- The central government renamed Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres as Ayushman Arogya Mandir with the tagline Arogyam Paramam Dhanam.
- In a letter to all States and Union Territories, the Union Health Ministry has issued guidelines to suitably replace the existing title across all operationalized Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres.
14) China Masters Badminton 2023: Satwiksairaj -Chirag runner up
- In the China Masters Badminton 2023, Indian duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost to the World No 1 Chinese pair of Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang 19-21, 21-18, and 19-21 in the men’s doubles final.
- The Indian pair showed remarkable improvement to level the score in second game.
- However the Chinese pair won the third and final game to clinch the title.
