1) Odisha’s ‘Mo Bus’ receives prestigious UN Public Service Award
- Odisha Capital Region Urban Transport’s ‘Mo Bus’ has won the prestigious United Nations Public Service Awards for 2022.
- It has been recognised for its role in “promoting gender-responsive public services to achieve the SDGS (Sustainable Development Goals)”
- The ‘Mo Bus’ service was launched on November 6, 2018, in Odisha.

2) One Health approach’ will be launched in Bengaluru
- Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), Ministry of Fisheries, Animal husbandry and Dairying launched the ‘One-Health approach!
- It will bring stakeholders from animal, human and environment health on a common platform to address the challenges.
- DAHD in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Confederation of Indian Industry will implement the Framework.
3) NASA launches first rocket from Australian commercial spaceport
- National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on 27 June 2022 successfully launched at rocket from Australia’s Arnhem Space Centre.
- It was NASA’s first-ever commercial launch outside of the United States.
- It was also the first commercial space launch in Australia’s history.
- It was the first of three launches, with a further two planned for 4th and 12th of July, 2022.
4) BHEL’s former chairman V. Krishnamurthy passed away
- Venkataraman Krishnamurthy, the former chairman of BHEL, Maruti Udyog and SAIL passed away at the age of 97.
- He was born in Karuveli, Tamil Nadu.
- He was famously known as the ‘turnaround man’ and started his career as a technician on the airfields during World War II.
- After that, he did a diploma in electrical engineering and rose up through the ranks of the Madras Electricity Board.
5) Nitin Gupta appointed as new CBDT chairman
- IRS officer Nitin Gupta has been appointed as the new Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) chairman.
- Nitin Gupta is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the 1986 batch of the Income Tax cadre and is currently serving as the Member (investigation) in CBDT.
- The post of the CBDT chief was being held in an additional capacity by Board member and 1986-batch IRS officer Sangeeta Singh.
6) World MSME Day: 27 June
- The World MSME Day is observed annually on June 27.
- The UN General Assembly in April 2017 designated June 27 as World MSME Day.
- The day serves as a reminder that small enterprises provide sustainable development goals, encourage innovation and provide a livelihood to millions.
- This year the theme of World MSME Day is ‘Resilience and Rebuilding: MSMEs for Sustainable Development!
7) Ministry of Education releases first ever report on PGI for Districts
- Ministry of Education on 27 June 2022 released the first-ever Performance Grading Index for Districts (PGI-D) for 2018-19 and 2019-20.
- It assesses the performance of the school education system at the District level by creating an index for comprehensive analysis.
- Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Jaipur of Rajasthan have emerged as the best performers in the index.
8) World Bank approves $250 mn loan for India’s road safety programme
- The World Bank on 27 June 2022 approved a $250 million loan for the Indian government’s road safety programme that addresses the high road accident fatality rate in the country.
- This road safety programme will be implemented in seven States.
- The loan from World Bank has a maturity of 18 years including a grace period of 5.5 years.

9) BEL signs MoU with Belarus-based Defense Initiatives
- Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed an MoU with Defense Initiatives (DI), Belarus, and Defense Initiatives Aero Pvt Ltd, India (a subsidiary of DI Belarus).
- It has been signed for the supply of Airborne Defense Suite (ADS) for Indian Air Force’s helicopters.
- ADS is used for providing protection to helicopters.

10) NASSCOM launches first Al Adoption Index for India
- National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) has developed a first-of-its-kind Al Adoption Index for India.
- The index has been designed to assess India’s Al maturity keeping a holistic view in mind.
- It has been created in collaboration with Microsoft, Ernst & Young and Capgemini.

11) Indian women’s recurve team bag silver in Archery WC 2022 Stage 3
- The Indian women’s recurve team of Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat and Simranjeet Kaur won a silver medal at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Paris on 26 June 2022.
- The trio lost the gold medal match to powerhouses Chinese Taipei by 5-1.
- With this, India concluded their campaign at the Archery World Cup 2022 Stage 3 in Paris with one gold and two silver medals.
12) India & UK to set up joint Commonwealth Diplomatic Academy programme
- India and the UK will create a joint Commonwealth Diplomatic Academy programme to train young and aspiring diplomats from both nations.
- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his UK counterpart, Liz Truss, announced plans for the establishment of the new academy.
- This academy will equip young diplomats with expertise and training they will need to tackle the global challenges.
13) Madhya Pradesh clinch first ever Ranji Trophy title
- Madhya Pradesh defeated Mumbai by six wickets to win their first-ever Ranji Trophy title at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 26 June 2022.
- Madhya Pradesh chased down 108 in the fourth innings for the fall of four wickets to lift the coveted trophy.
- Mumbai with 41 titles, holds the record of winning the most number of Ranji Trophy titles.
- Mumbai last won the title in 2015-16.
14) Noted lyricist and journalist, Chowalloor Krishnankutty passes away
- Noted lyricist, author and journalist, Chowalloor
- Krishnankutty passed away in Thrissur, Kerala on 26 June 2022.
- He penned over 3000 devotional songs and authored more than 200 books.
- He was also a recipient of numerous awards, including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Humour and the state award for Best song in drama.
- He retired as an Assistant Editor with the Malayala Manorama daily.
15) Tapan Deka appointed as new Intelligence Bureau Chief
- Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Tapan Deka has been appointed the new chief of the central intelligence agency.
- He will replace incumbent Arvind Kumar after his tenure comes to an end on June 30.
- Current chief of Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) Samant Goel has been given another extension of one year in his tenure which comes to an end on June 30.
