1) Godrej Consumer to Acquire FMCG Business of Raymond Consumer Care
- Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has announced its acquisition of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) business of Raymond Consumer Care Private Limited.
- Raymond FMCG business has two key brands Godrej Consumer Products along with the trademarks of Park Avenue, KS, Kamasutra and Premium, through a slump sale
2) Arun Kashyap Appointed as Chief Operating Officer of SpiceJet
- SpiceJet, one of India’s leading airlines, has announced the appointment of Arun Kashyap as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
- This is his second stint at SpiceJet, having previously served as chief program and transformation officer at the airline.
- He has previously also worked with flydubai, Jet Airways and Oman Air.
3) Asia’s First Moxi Laser Launched
- Monisha Kapoor, a renowned plastic surgeon, has launched Asia’s first Moxi Laser at her clinic in New Delhi.
- The procedure is a non-invasive, individualised laser treatment that can lessen scarring, reduce pigmentation, and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
- The device is adaptable to treat different skin types, making it a flexible choice for a variety of patients.
4) 2nd World Sports Tourism Congress
- The 2nd edition of the World Sports. Tourism Congress (WSTC), organised at Croatia, by the UN World Tourism Organization (UNVVTO), the Government of Croatia.
- It brought together experts and leaders from across the sports and tourism sectors, alongside representatives of destinations and businesses.
- It was held under the theme “Tourism and Sports United for Sustainability”.
5) Sisira Kanta Dash appointed as Chief Technical Officer of Air India
- Sisira Kanta Dash has been appointed as the new Chief Technical Officer of Air India
- Sisira Kanta Dash is currently the head of engineering at Vistara.
- Air India & Vistara are having a pending approval of merger from DGCA.
6) Former Indian boxer and Muhammad Ali opponent, Kaur Singh, passes away
- Asian Games gold medallist Indian boxer Kaur Singh, who once fought the legendary Muhammad Ali in an exhibition bout, died at a hospital in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
- He fought a 4-round exhibition match with Ali in January 1980.
- He won the heavyweight boxing gold medal at the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi.
- He was conferred with the Arjuna Award in 1982 and Padma Shri in 1983.
7) Man City striker Haaland breaks record for most goals in 38-games
- Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has broken the record for the most goals scored in a 38-game Premier League season, with a total of 37 goals.
- He accomplished this during Manchester City’s match against Arsenal at Etihad Stadium.
- With 34 goals each in the 42-game seasons of 1993-94 and 1994-95, respectively, Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer presently hold the record.
8) Dima Hasao insurgent group signs peace pact with Assam Centre
- An Assam-based insurgent group Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA)/Dimasa People’s Supreme Council (DPSC) which operates in the Dima Hasao district, signed a peace agreement with the State Government and the Centre.
- The DNLA was established in April 2019 seeking a sovereign territory for the Dimasa tribals and launched an armed insurgency to achieve its goal.
9) 68th Filmfare Awards 2023 Announced
- The 68th edition of the Hyundai Filmfare Awards in association with Maharashtra Tourism were announced.
- Best Film: Gangubai Kathiawadi
- Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male): Rajkummar Rao for Badhaai Do
- Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female): Alia Bhatt for Gangubai Kathiawadi
- Best Music Album: Pritam for Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva
10) Jharkhand government launched air ambulance services
- The Jharkhand government launched air ambulance services from Ranchi and 6 other centres.
- The move will facilitate treatment for seriously ill by connecting higher medical centres located in different states.
- The air ambulance would be made available at a competitive price to all.
