1) Uttar Pradesh secured over Rs. 40 lakh crore investment in 2023.
- Uttar Pradesh attracted over Rs 40 lakh cr. of investment in 2023, which is projected to generate employment for one crore youths.
- Projects worth Rs 15 lakh cr. are set to launch in 2024, including development of Lalitpur Bulk Drug Park, Defense Corridor, and Lucknow Al City.
- Foreign investments include Fuji Silvertech from Japan that agreed to establish a plant in Uttar Pradesh in 2023.
2) RITES and NEEPCO partner to boost logistical infrastructure.
- RITES Ltd has signed a pact with NEEPCO to cooperate on consultancy services aimed at strengthening logistical infrastructure at North East hydropower stations.
- The Arunachal Pradesh government has entrusted NEEPCO with five hydropower projects in the Siang Basin.
- RITES will support NEEPCO as a Project Management Consultant for works related to rail infrastructure facilities.
3) Haryana embraced drone technology for land mapping.
- The Haryana government is using drones for diverse applications including land mapping, crime control, and enhancing agriculture.
- The Drone Imaging and Information Systems of Haryana (DRIISHYA) spearheads these initiatives, exploring new areas of opportunity with drone technology.
- DRIISHYA, in collaboration with DCP Traffic, Gurugram, is set to introduce drone-based land surveys.
4) Uttar Pradesh to introduce green hydrogen policy.
- Yogi Adityanath reviews the draft of Green Hydrogen Policy aimed at endorsing clean energy sources to counter global warming and climate change.
- The initiative encourages firms in the green hydrogen sector by offering incentives, including land availability, tax exemptions, and subsidies.
- Ahead of finalising the policy, the CM directs officials to study the policies of other states.
5) Over 1500 perform Tabla in Gwalior, earn Guinness World Record.
- More than 1500 individuals performed tabla simultaneously at the ‘Taal Darbar’ in Gwalior, setting a Guinness World Record.
- Noteworthy officials like Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia were present at the event.
- To commemorate the achievement, Dec 25 will henceforth be celebrated as ‘Tabla Divas’.
6) PM Modi to chair third National Conference of Chief Secretaries
- Prime Minister is set to chair the 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries on 28th and 29th December, emphasizing on ‘Ease of Living’.
- The conference intends to discuss crucial areas such as Land, Electricity, Drinking Water, Health, and Schooling.
- Special sessions on Cyber Security, Aspirational Block and District Programme, and New Age Technologies will be held.
7) NLC donated 4.30 crore to CM relief fund for flood relief in Tamilnadu
- NLC has contributed 4.30 crore to the Tamil Nadu CM’s Public Relief Fund to aid flood-affected people; this sum includes Rs. 2.30 crores donated from employees’ one-day salary.
- The funds will assist citizens impacted by Cyclone Michaung and by unprecedented heavy rain in southern districts like Tuticorin and Tirunelveli.
- NLC India has also deployed water pumps, engineers, and technicians.
8) BEL secured work order of Rs 678 crore from Uttar Pradesh Government.
- Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) received a contract worth Rs 678 crore from the Uttar Pradesh Government for UP Dial 112 project.
- The project involves providing high-tech hardware, Al-based software, and cybersecurity solutions across the state.
- Besides, BEL has obtained additional orders worth Rs 233 crore for communication units, thermal cameras, and other spares & services.
9) $100m project by centre and ADB to revitalize Tripura’s tourism.
- Central government and ADB secured a $100m loan aimed at upgrading urban services and tourism in Tripura.
- The project will strengthen urban water systems, upgrade roads with features for vulnerable populations, and impart key skills to local urban bodies.
- High-profile sites like Chaturdash Temple, Kasba Kalibari, and Neermahal Palace will be upgraded, and a 10-year tourism plan implemented.
10) Conclusion of 8th Indian Ocean naval symposium in Bangkok.
- The 8th Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) Conclave of Chiefs ended in Bangkok, attended by 27 member or observer country senior delegates.
- Thailand took over as the IONS Chair, and the Work Plan for the next two years was finalized.
- India designed the selected IONS Flag and will co-chair the Working Groups on Maritime Security and HADR.
