1) SBI economists remarked: India’s unemployment at record low

  • India’s unemployment rate is at a record low and the country’s labour market is undergoing a structural transformation, a SBI report said.
  • In the new report, the economists at the country’s largest lender SBI also pitched for a “reinterpretation of old fashioned rhetoric” while looking at a subject like employment.

 

2) Aatmanirbhar Air Arm of Indian Navy seminar-2023

  • The Southern Naval Command, Kochi hosted a two day seminar, themed ‘AatmaNirbhar Air Arm of the Indian Navy 2023‘, from 13-14 Nov 23.
  • The event is being conducted under the aegis of Headquarters Naval Aviation. Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff presided over the seminar as Chief Guest.
  • The occasion presented awards to various naval squadrons and flights for their performances.

 

3) Former Indian defence secretary joins as advisor to USISPF Board

  • Former Indian Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar has joined as an advisor to the Board at the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum.
  • As the Defence Secretary of India, Kumar was tasked with the overall responsibility of defence between August 2019 and October 2022.
  • Dr Kumar brings in over three decades of expertise and understanding of nexus between defence and critical and emerging technology.

 

4) Union Power and NRE Minister R. K. Singh inaugurates Power Pavilion

  • The Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R. K. Singh inaugurated a Power Pavilion set up by the Ministry of Power, Government of India at the ongoing India International Trade Fair 2023, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
  • The pavilion aims to present the key initiatives in the power sector and to also improve public awareness and participation in the policies of the government.

 

5) Jharkhand Foundation Day: 15th November

  • On November 15, the State of Jharkhand celebrated its foundation day.
  • The state was carved out of Bihar in 2000 after the Parliament passed the Bihar Reorganization Act, 2000.
  • The day coincided with thebirth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda also known as Bhagwan Birsa.
  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has greeted people of Jharkhand on the foundation day of Jharkhand.

 

6) INDIAN NAVY’S GUNNERY SYMPOSIUM 2023

  • The Gunnery Symposium 2023 was conducted at INS Dronacharya,the Navy’s Center for Excellence in Gunnery and Missile Warfare under the aegis of Headquarters Southern Naval Command.
  • The theme for this year’s Symposium was ‘Emerging Technologies in Gunnery and Missile Warfare.’
  • Adm R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff was the chief guest of the event.

 

7) NHA held Accelerator Workshops on ABDM Integration with IRDAI

  • The National Health Authorityand the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India have joined hands to operationalize the National Health Claim Exchange, a digital health claims platform developed by National Health Authority.
  • The integration with NHCX would enable seamless interoperability of health claims processing in the insurance industry and benefiting the patients.

 

8) Mohammed Siraj replaced as No.1 ODI bowler by Keshav Maharaj

  • Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj’s reign as the world’s number one bowler in ODIs lasted barely a week as he was replaced by South African spinner Keshav Maharaj.
  • The updated rankings on Tuesday showed the South African spinner as the top-ranked bowler.
  • Since November 1, Maharaj has taken seven wickets in three matches in the World Cup, including a four-for versus New Zealand in Pune.
