3) Centre to complete 3D digitisation of museums by year-end

  • This includes the Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad, Allahabad Museum in Prayagraj, Indian Museum, Kolkata, Victoria Memorial Hall, National Museum, and the National Gallery of Modern Art
  • The digitization process involves 3D scanning which means analyzing real-world objects or environments to collect 3D data on their shape,appearance
  • The collected data is then used to construct a digital 3D model

 

4) Indian Army signs pact with iDEX for ‘tactical LAN radio

  • The Indian Army has signed a pact with Bangalore-based Astrome Tech Pvt Ltd through Innovations for Defence Excellence to purchase indigenously developed ‘Tactical LAN Radio’
  • In April 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced iDEX.
  • IDEX is aimed at the creation of an ecosystem to foster innovation and technology development in Defence and Aerospace.

7) India’s Azista BST Aerospace launches 1st runner satellite on SpaceX

  • India’s Azista BST Aerospace launched its first satellite, ABA First Runner (AFR), onboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-8 Mission.
  • The company aims to make India a hub for the mass manufacturing of satellites.
  • The satellite lifted off from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Musk’s SpaceX rideshare mission.

 

8) KVG Bank launches new deposit scheme

  • Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) has launched a new deposit scheme ‘Vikas Ashadeep 400 days’.
  • Shreekant M Bhandiwad, Chairman of KVGB, who launched this scheme, said the scheme is of a tenor of 400 days with an interest rate of 7.50 percent for senior citizens and 7 percent for the general public.
  • Under the scheme, a minimum of 10,000 and a maximum of 2 crore can be deposited.

 

9) Indian Overseas Bank Introduces “MY ACCOUNT MY NAME”

  • Indian Overseas Bank Introduces “MY ACCOUNT MY NAME” for Savings Bank account customers, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the banking sector.
  • Now customers will get the freedom to choose any name as their account number with IOB.
  • The schemes were launched from Central Office, Chennai, virtually by Shri Ajay Kumar Srivastava, MD&CEO, Indian Overseas Bank with all the 49 Regional Offices.

 

10) India win 7 medals in U-17 Asian Wrestling Championships

  • India wrapped up their campaign in the U-17 Asian Wrestling Championships with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals on the final day in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
  • Ankush won India’s only gold medal of the day in the freestyle 55kg weight category
  • Dhanraj Bharat Shirke lost to Iran’s Ahora Farhad Khateri.
  • Rupesh bagged the other silver after losing to Iran’s Sam Reza Sayar in 48kg final.

 

11) Odisha Celebrates its agricultural festival Raja

  • President Droupadi Murmu greeted people on the occasion of Odisha’s agricultural festival, Raja.
  • Raja Parba also known as Mithuna Sankranti, is a three-day-long festival of womanhood celebrated in Odisha, India.
  • The second day of the festival signifies the beginning of the solar month of Mithuna from, which the season of rains starts.

 

12) G20 Tourism Ministers meeting to be held in Goa from 19th June

  • The 4th Tourism Working Group Meeting under India’s G20 presidency and G20 Tourism Ministers meeting will be held in Goa from 19th June to 22nd June.
  • A side event on making Cruise Tourism a model for sustainable and responsible travel will be organized on 19th June.
  • The Secretary said various cultural programs will be organized to highlight and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Goa.

 

13) W20 summit to begin at Mahabalipuram near Chennai

  • The W20 summit will begin at Mahabalipuram near Chennai.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually address the inaugural session.
  • Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani will deliver the keynote address.
  • The summit with a theme of women-led development to transform, thrive and transcend will be moderated by Dharitri Patnaik, the W 20 chief Coordinator.
