✅  1. World Zoonoses Day: 6 July

  • World Zoonoses Day is observed every year on 6 July to raise awareness about zoonotic diseases.
  • This day commemorates the successful administration of the first vaccine against a zoonotic disease.
  • French biologist Louis Pasteur successfully administered the first vaccine against Rabies virus on 6 July 1885.
  • Zoonoses are the infectious diseases that spread from animals to humans through direct contact with infected animals. These can be caused by bacteria, virus or parasites.

 

✅  2. Equestrian Statue of Peshwa Bajirao unveiled at NDA by Union Home Minister

  • On 4 July, the equestrian statue of the legendary Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I has been unveiled at the National Defence Academy (NDA) campus in Pune by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
  • The statue has been installed at NDA, the premier training institute for future officers of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
  • The Home Minister stressed that Bajirao’s leadership and military strategy are relevant even today.
  • The NDA cadets have been encouraged to draw inspiration from Bajirao’s dedication, bravery, and service to the nation.

 

✅  3. The defense minister inaugurated Controllers’ Conference 2025.                               

  • On July 7, the Controllers’ Conference 2025 inaugurated by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi.
  • The three-day event, hosted by the Defence Accounts Department (DAD), will be held from July 7 to 9.
  • The conference aims to bring together India’s defense and financial leadership to shape the future of defense financial governance.
  • The theme for this year is “Transforming Financial Advice, Payment, Audit, and Accounting through Defense Finance and Economics.”

 

✅  4. India ranked 4th among the World’s Most Equal Societies by the World Bank.

  • India has been ranked as the fourth most equal society globally by the World Bank, based on its Gini Index score.
  • A Gini Index score of 25.5 has been recorded for India, placing it just behind the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, and Belarus.
  • The Gini index is a simple but powerful way to understand how evenly income, wealth, or consumption is distributed among households or individuals in a country.

 

✅  5. The 7th International Conference of the Innovative Physician Forum inaugurated by Om Birla.

  • On 5 July, the 7th Annual International Conference of the Innovative Physician Forum—IPF MEDICON 2025—was inaugurated in New Delhi by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
  • It was organized by the Innovative Physicians Forum from 5 to 6 July.
  • The theme of the conference was “The Future of Internal Medicine: Education, Research & Practice in the Changing World.”
  • The event is being attended by medical professionals and researchers from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia, and the UK.

 

✅  6. International Day of Cooperatives 2025: 5 July

  • Every year on the first Saturday in July, the International Day of Cooperatives is observed.
  • This year, the day was celebrated on 5 July around the world. The day is commonly known as Coops Day.
  • The United Nations has declared the year 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives.
  • The theme of the 103rd International Day of Cooperatives 2025 is “Cooperatives: Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for a Better World.”

 

✅  7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

  • The summit was held on July 6–7, 2025.
  • Leaders held wide-ranging discussions on global governance reform, the Global South, peace and security, multilateralism, development, and Artificial Intelligence.
  • PM Modi delivered remarks at the opening session on “Reform of Global Governance and Peace and Security.”
  • Later, he spoke at a session on “Strengthening Multilateral, Economic-Financial Affairs and Artificial Intelligence.”

 

✅  8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honoured with the ‘Key to the City of Buenos Aires.’

  • The award was presented by Jorge Macri, the Head of the City Government.
  • The award acknowledged PM Modi’s contribution to enhancing India-Argentina relations.
  • During his visit, he paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi in Buenos Aires.
  • He also honoured Rabindranath Tagore at his statue in the city.

 

✅  9. Sub Lieutenant Aastha Poonia made history by becoming the first woman fighter pilot in the Indian Navy. 

  • She received the prestigious ‘Wings of Gold’ after completing the Second Basic Hawk Conversion Course.
  • The graduation ceremony took place at INS Dega in Visakhapatnam.
  • Lieutenant Atul Kumar Dhull also graduated and received the honour alongside her.
  • Rear Admiral Janak Bevli presided over the ceremony.

 

✅  10. India has set a goal to increase its economy from $4 trillion to $32 trillion by 2047.

  • Union Minister Piyush Goyal shared this vision at the IIT Madras ‘Sangam 2025’ Global Innovation and Alumni Summit in Bengaluru.
  • He mentioned that India is currently the fifth-largest economy globally.
  • The country is expected to become the third-largest economy by 2028.
  • Goyal emphasized that India is growing rapidly on the world stage.
