1. Anish Dayal Singh appointed Deputy NSA

• Former CRPF & ITBP DG; retired in Dec 2024.
• 1988-batch IPS officer (Manipur cadre).
• Served nearly 30 years in the Intelligence Bureau.
• Will handle internal affairsincluding J&K, Naxalism, and Northeast insurgency.
• Supervised 2024 Lok Sabha & J&K Assembly elections.
• Other Deputy NSAs: V. Ravichandran(Retd IPS), Pavan Kapoor (Ex-IFS), and Rajinder Khanna (Addl. NSA, ex-RAW Chief).

✅ Government Schemes & Initiatives

2. PM Jan Dhan Yojana – 11 Years (Launched: 28 August 2014)

• Largest financial inclusion program globally.
• Provides: Basic savings bank accounts, RuPay cards, insurance, pension, loans, remittance.
• Linked to Core Banking & Mobile banking (USSD-enabled).
• Covered urban & rural areas effectively.

3. PM SVANidhi Scheme – Revamp Approved

• Loan disbursal extended till 31 March 2030(was Dec 2024).
• Loan limits increased:
  • 1st loan: ₹10,000 ➝ ₹15,000
  • 2nd loan: ₹20,000 ➝ ₹25,000
  • 3rd loan: ₹50,000 (unchanged)
• UPI-linked RuPay Credit Cardfor eligible vendors.
• Cashback up to ₹1,600.
• Coverage expanded to census towns & peri-urban areas.
• Target: 15 crore vendors(50 lakh new beneficiaries).
• Launched: 1 June 2020; loans disbursed (as of July 2025): 96 lakh+, ₹13,797 crore.

4. Multi-Tracking Projects & Kutch Rail Line – Approved (27 August)

• States: Karnataka, Telangana, Bihar, Assam.
• New Line in Kutch, Gujarat: 145 route km; benefits 16 lakh people in 866 villages.
• Under PM Gati Shakti, to reduce CO₂ emissions, logistics cost, and improve rail efficiency.
• Generates 251 lakh human-daysof employment.
• Key Projects:
  • Secunderabad–Wadi: 173 km, ₹5,012 cr, 5 yrs.
  • Bhagalpur–Jamalpur: 53 km, ₹1,156 cr, 3 yrs.
  • Furkating–New Tinsukia: 194 km, ₹3,634 cr, 4 yrs.
  • Total network addition: 565 kmacross 13 districts.

✅ MoUs / Agreements

5. Defence Ministry & QCI – MoU for Veteran Services

• Benefits 63 lakh veterans & families.
• Covers: Pension, healthcare, welfare, resettlement.
• QCI will assist with digital evaluations & policy strategy.
• Supports entrepreneurship and re-employment.

6. Minority Affairs Ministry & CMFRI (Kerala) – MoU for Training

• Under PM VIKAS
• Training for 690 minoritiesin Kerala on non-traditional fisheries skills.
• Focus on women’s entrepreneurship, self-employment, and leadership.
• Location: Thiruvananthapuram.

7. Suru Summer Festival 2025 – Ladakh

• First-ever August snowfallturned it into a snow festival.
• Held in Suru Valley, Ladakh.
• Attended by Union Minister Kiren Rijijuand LG Kavender Gupta.
• Focus on youth empowerment & skill development.
• Highlights: Cultural shows, handicrafts, traditional cuisine, sports.

8. SpaceX – 10th Successful Starship Test

• Launch from Starbase, Texas.
• Super Heavy booster landed in Gulf of Mexico.
• Starship stage splashdown in Indian Ocean.
• First simulation of Starlink satellite deployment.
• Supports NASA’s Artemis III (2027).

9. Global Spiritual Conclave – Ujjain (27 August)

• Organized by MP Tourism Department, supported by Ministry of Tourism.
• Inaugurated by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, attended by CM Mohan Yadav.

• Aim: Promote spiritual tourism& preserve cultural heritage.
