🏭 India Optel Limited – Safran (France)

• Cooperation agreement signed on 22 December, New Delhi.
• Aim: Indigenous defence manufacturingunder Make in India.

  • CM3-MR Direct Firing Sight
• IOL responsible for:
  • Manufacturing, testing, quality control
  • Complete life-cycle support
• Builds on MoU signed in January 2024.

🌏 India – New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA)

• One of India’s fastest FTAs with a developed country.
• Negotiations:
  • Began: 16 March 2025
  • Duration: 9 months
• Key provisions:
  • 100% duty-free accessto NZ market for Indian exports
  • India liberalised ~70% tariff lines
  • Sensitive sectors excluded (dairy, sugar, edible oils, onions etc.)
• Services:
  • Covers 118 services sectors
  • MFN commitments for 139 sub-sectors
• Education:
  • Post-study work visas:
    • 3 years (STEM)
    • 4 years (PhD)
  • NZ to facilitate USD 20 billion investmentin India (15 years).
  • Bilateral trade (2024–25): USD 1.3 billion.
  • Third trade agreement signed by India in 2025.
