🔹 India Re-elected to ICAO Council – Part II
- Re-elected on 27 Sept 2025during the 42nd ICAO Assembly in Montreal.
- Part II includes nations contributing significantly to global air navigation services.
- India received more votes than in 2022, showing rising international trust.
- Civil Aviation Minister Shri Rammohan Naiduled a diplomatic outreach and held meetings with member states.
- India is a founding memberof ICAO (since 1944) and has been on the Council for 81+ years.
🔹 President’s Bodyguard Receives Diamond Jubilee Banner
- President Droupadi Murmupresented the Diamond Jubilee Silver Trumpet & Trumpet Banner to the President’s Bodyguard (PBG).
- Marks 75 yearssince designation as PBG (1950).
- Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, also featured retired horse ‘Viraat’.
- PBG is the oldest regimentin Indian Army (est. 1773).
- Banner tradition started by President Rajendra Prasad in 1957.
🔹 India at UNESCO MONDIACULT 2025
- Held in Barcelona, Spain.
- Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawatchaired the Asia-Pacific Group.
- Advocated culture as a global public goodand a tool for sustainable development.
- India held bilateral cultural talkswith Spain, Iran, Greece, Colombia, Norway.
🔹 AVAS for Electric Vehicles from 2027
- Ministry of Road Transportproposes Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS).
- Mandatory for new EV models from Oct 1, 2026, all existing models by Oct 1, 2027.
- Applies to Category M (passenger)& N (goods)
- Based on AIS-173 standards. Aims to enhance pedestrian safety.
🔹 September 2025 GST Collection
- GST collection: ₹1.89 lakh crore.
- 1% YoY growth, 1.5% upfrom August.
- Growth despite GST 2.0 reformsand tax cuts on 375 items from 22 Sept 2025.
- Indicates strong consumption and compliance.

🔹 Lt Gen Virendra Vats – New DG, NCC
- Assumed charge on Oct 1, 2025.
- Succeeded Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh.
- NCC expanding to 20 lakh cadetsin 28 states + 8 UTs.
- Vats served in UN Congo mission, counter-insurgency in Kashmir & Arunachal, and as Commandant, DSSC Wellington.

🔹 Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve Recognized by UNESCO
- Located in Himachal Pradesh; added to UNESCO World Biosphere Networkon 27 Sept 2025.
- India now has 13 UNESCO biosphere reserves.
🔹 New Ramsar Sites in Bihar
- Gokul Jalashay, Buxar (448 ha).
- Udaipur Jheel, West Champaran (319 ha).
- Total Ramsar sites in India: 93, covering 6 lakh ha.

🔹 SAIL-MTI & IIM Jammu Sign MoU
- Signed on 29 Sept 2025at SAIL HQ, New Delhi.
- Focus: Leadership development& adoption of global best practices.

🔹 Bathukamma Festival Sets 2 Guinness Records (Telangana)
- Held at Saroornagar Stadium, Hyderabad.
- Record 1: Largest Bathukamma floral structure(63.11 ft tall, 7 tonnes).
- Record 2: Largest synchronized Bathukamma dance(1,354 women).
- Certificates presented by Guinness officials.
- Attended by Miss World 2025 – Opal Suchata Chuangsri.
- Floral structure built by 300 workers in 72 hours.
