Centre launched ₹235 crore worth of port infrastructure and digital governance projects in Tamil Nadu.
Projects aim to strengthen maritime capacity and support India’s maritime-led growth strategy.
Launched by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal during “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Ports” programme in Chennai.
Fund allocation:
- ₹129.36 crore – Chennai Port Authority
- ₹105.64 crore – Kamarajar Port Limited
Key projects at Chennai Port:
- Climate-resilient coastal revetment (850 m stretch)
- New firefighting pump house at Oil Dock Area
- Modernisation of Chennai Port Hospital
At Kamarajar Port: New boundary wall foundation laid.
E-Port Clearance Portal launched under One Nation–One Port Process.

Government aims to eliminate child marriage by 2030.
Target: 10% reduction by 2026, complete eradication by 2030.
Launched in November 2024 by Ministry of Women & Child Development.
Balod district (Chhattisgarh) became India’s first child marriage-free district.
No child marriage cases reported for 2 consecutive years across:
- 436 Gram Panchayats
- 9 Urban Local Bodies
Surajpur district declared 75 Child Marriage-Free Panchayats (Sept 2025).
NFHS-5 (2019–21):
- 23% women (20–24 yrs) married before 18.
PCMA Act, 2006:
- Girl <18 years / Boy <21 years = Child Marriage.
