1. Repealing and Amending Bill, 2025

  • Passed by Lok Sabhato repeal obsolete and redundant laws.
  • 71 Acts affected:
    • 65 Amendment Acts
    • 6 Principal Acts
  • 71 Acts repealed, including:
    • Indian Tramways Act, 1886
    • Levy Sugar Price Equalisation Fund Act, 1976
    • BPCL (Conditions of Service) Act, 1988
  • 4 Acts amended, including:
    • General Clauses Act, 1897
    • Code of Civil Procedure, 1908
  • Indian Succession Act, 1925 amended to remove court validation of wills in certain cases.
  • Disaster Management Act, 2005 amended to correct a drafting error.
  • Since May 2014, government has repealed 1,577 laws:
    • 1,562 fully repealed
    • 15 re-enacted
  • Objective: Legal simplification and removal of obsolete laws.

2. Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha Bill, 2025

  • Passed by Lok Sabha.
  • Amends:
    • Insurance Act, 1938
    • LIC Act, 1956
    • IRDA Act, 1999
  • Aims:
    • Strengthen policyholder protection
    • Improve ease of doing business
    • Ensure transparency in regulation
  • ₹17,000 crore infused into public sector insurers.
  • Highlights GST waiver on life & health insurance premiums.
  • Supports flagship schemes:
    • PMJJBY, PMSBY, PMJAY, crop insurance schemes.

3. Second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine

  • Held in New Delhi, starting 17 December 2025.
  • Co-hosted by WHOand Ministry of Ayush.
  • Theme: “Restoring balance: The science and practice of health and well-being”
  • 3-day event with 170+ expertsacross 25 sessions.
  • Guided by WHO Global Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025–2034.
  • First summit held in Gandhinagar (2023).
  • Focus: People-centred healthcare & planetary well-being.

4. National Workshop on Strengthening Geospatial Ecosystem

  • Hosted by Survey of Indiaon 17 December 2025, New Delhi.
  • Theme: “Geospatial Mission: An Enabler of Viksit Bharat”

  • Linked to National Geospatial Mission (Budget 2025–26).

    • Urban planning

5. India – World’s Largest Makhana Producer

  • India produces ~80% of global makhana output.
  • Bihar contributes ~85%of India’s production.
  • Darbhanga districtis the major hub.
  • ICAR-National Research Centre on Makhana located in Darbhanga.
  • Identified under One District One Product (ODOP).
  • National Makhana Boardestablished (14 Sept 2025).
  • ₹476.03 crore scheme approved (2025–26 to 2030–31) to strengthen value chain.

6. DHRUV64 Indigenous Microprocessor

  • India’s first fully indigenous 1.0 GHz, 64-bit dual-core processor.
  • Developed by C-DACunder Microprocessor Development Programme (MDP).
  • Supports sectors:

    • Industrial automation
    • IoT
  • Part of DIR-V Programme (launched April 2022).
  • Builds on earlier processors:
    • SHAKTI, AJIT (2018)
    • VIKRAM, THEJAS64 (2025)

8. PM-KUSUM Scheme

    • A: Lease land for solar plants – earn up to ₹80,000/ha/year.
    • B: Replace diesel pumps with solar pumps – save ~₹60,000/year.
    • C: Solarise agriculture feeders – earn ~₹25,000/acre/year.
  • Supports non-fossil fuel capacity target of 40% by 2030.

9. Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games

  • India won 56 medals(19 gold).
  • Held under patronage of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed.

  • Uzbekistan topped medal tally.
  • AI-powered robots used for the first time in official operations.
