Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve to Become Cheetah Habitat

  • Located at Nauradehi, Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh.
  • Announced by CM Mohan Yadav.
  • Will be Madhya Pradesh’s third cheetah habitat.
  • Earlier habitats:
    • Kuno National Park(September 2022) – currently 28 cheetahs.
    • Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary(April 2025) – 2 cheetahs.
  • Eight cheetahs from Botswanaexpected in January 2026.
  • State cabinet granted in-principle approval.

India–Jordan Relations Strengthened

  • PM Narendra Modivisited Jordan on 15–16 December.
  • Marked 75 years of diplomatic relations.
  • First full bilateral visit by an Indian PM to Jordan in 37 years.

    • Water resource management
    • Cultural exchange
    • Digital solutions
    • Petra–Ellora twinning
  • India proposed increasing bilateral trade to $5 billion in 5 years.
  • Cooperation proposed between Jordan’s digital payment system and India’s UPI.

India–ADB Loan Agreements ($2.2 Billion)

    • Customs cooperation

  • Observed annually to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war.
  • 2025 marks the 54th anniversaryof the historic victory.
  • On 16 December 1971East Pakistan became independent, leading to the creation of Bangladesh.
  • The war began on 3 December 1971after Pakistani airstrikes on 11 Indian airbases.
  • India achieved victory in 13 daysof intense fighting.
  • Indira Gandhiwas the Prime Minister of India during the war.
  • Celebrated in Bangladesh as ‘Bijoy Dibos’ (Bangladesh Liberation Day).
