PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana & Mission for Self-Reliance in Pulses

• Launched by PM Narendra Modiin New Delhi.
• India is already self-sufficient in wheat & rice; now aims for self-reliance in pulses(Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan).
• Mission aims to increase farmers’ incomeand strengthen the agriculture sector.
• PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana:
  • Targets 100 low-productivity districts.
  • Promotes crop diversification, better irrigation, credit access, and modern storage.
• PM also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 2,100+ agriculture-related projects, including AIF, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Food Processing.

• Theme:“The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis”.
• Established by UNGA in 2011.
• Focuses on girls’ rights, empowerment & challenges.

  • Girls (15–19) are more likely to be out of education/employment/training than boys.
  • 4 in 10girls/young women do not complete higher secondary education.

Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan – 123rd Birth Anniversary (11 October)

• Born: 11 October 1902| Died: 8 October 1979.
• Known as JP / Lok Nayak.
• Played major roles in:
  • Quit India Movement
  • Sarvodaya Movement
  • JP Movementagainst Indira Gandhi
• Given Bharat Ratna in 1999.
• Known for the concept of Total Revolution.

100 Years of RSS – Commemorative Stamp & Coin

• PM Modi released a postage stamp & coinmarking the RSS centenary.
• Event hosted at  Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.
• RSS founded in 1925 in Nagpurby  K.B. Hedgewar on Vijayadashami.
• PM described RSS’s journey as a century of service, sacrifice & discipline.

Deepika Padukone – India’s First Mental Health Ambassador

• Appointed by Union Health Ministryon World Mental Health Day (10 October).
• Supports nationwide mental health awareness.

Three Ports Recognised as Green Hydrogen Hubs

Under National Green Hydrogen Mission:

• Mission aims to make India a global hub for green hydrogenproduction, use & export.
• Supports India’s Net-Zero 2070

Nobel Peace Prize 2025 – Maria Corina Machado (Venezuela)

• Recognised for defending democratic rightsand leading democracy movement in Venezuela.

• Fourth edition of SPARK (Studentship Program for Ayurveda Research Ken).
• Encourages research among BAMS students.

AIIMS Delhi – India’s First Robotic Kidney Transplant

• First such procedure by a government hospitalin India.
• Conducted on 3rd of last month; 5 transplantsdone so far.
• Virinder Kumar Bansal: Robotic method ensures faster, safer recovery.
• Patients can be discharged within one week.
• Surgery cost significantly lower than private hospitals.
