President Droupadi Murmu’s Visit to Angola and Botswana

• President Droupadi Murmuarrived in Luanda, Angola — first-ever visit by an Indian Head of State to Angola.
• Visit marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic tiesbetween India and Angola.
• Follows the Angolan President Joao Lourenco’s visit to New Delhi (May 2025).
• Both leaders to hold bilateral talksand sign agreements on shared interests.
• India approved a $200 million Line of Creditto modernize Angola’s defence forces.
• Angola is India’s 2nd largest energy supplier from Africa.
• Discussions to include healthcare, space tech, and digital public infrastructure.
• President Murmu will attend Angola’s 50th Independence Anniversaryand address its Parliament.
• From Nov 11–13, she will visit Botswanafor talks with President Duma Boko.
• Botswana seeks cooperation with India on Project Cheetah.

Typhoon Fung-wong (Uwan)

• Typhoon Fung-wong, locally known as Uwan, made landfall in the Philippines.
• Classified as a Super Typhoonwith sustained winds of 185 km/h.
• 900,000+ evacuated, 2 deaths reported.
• Struck the Bicol Region, passed the Polillo Islands, moving toward Baler–Casiguran.
• Expected to weaken after crossing Luzon(largest island of the Philippines).
• 26th named stormand 13th typhoon of the 2025 Pacific typhoon season.
• To be a “super typhoon” in the Philippines, winds must exceed 185 km/h.
• “Hurricane” = American term; “Typhoon” = term in the Philippines & Japan.

• David Szalay(Canadian-Hungarian-British writer) won the 2025 Booker Prize for “Flesh”.
• Prize worth £50,000, announced on 10 November 2025in London.

• Selected from 153 novels; panel included Roddy Doyle& Sarah Jessica Parker.
• Szalay was previously shortlisted in 2016for All That Man Is.
