Rani Rashmoni’s Birth Anniversary: 28 September 1793
- Born in Kona village, Nadia-North 24 Parganas border, West Bengal.
- Married at age 11 to zamindar Babu Rajchandra Das of Janbazar.
- Took over zamindari after husband’s death in 1836.
- Built Dakshineswar Kali Temple (1847–1855)with ₹9 lakh on 30,000 acres.
- Supported widow remarriage, opposed polygamy, and challenged British taxationand religious restrictions.
- Funded ghats, roads, National Library, and Hindu College.
