- Celebrated annually to strengthen global peace ideals.
- Established by the United Nations in 1981.
- In 2001, the UN declared this day for non-violence and ceasefire observance.
- Promotes global solidarity for a peaceful world.

‘Anbu Karangal’ Program for Orphaned Children’s Education
- Launched by CM Stalinon former CM C.N. Annadurai’s birth anniversary.
- Financial Aid:₹2,000/month for orphaned children or those who lost one parent.
- Aid will continue until the child turns 18 and completes their school education.
- First Phase:6,082 children set to benefit.
- Part of the ‘Thayumanavar’programme for uplifting the marginalized.

PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) in Kolkata
- Theme:“Year of Reforms – Transformation for the Future.”
- Focus on force modernization, jointness, integration, and readiness for multi-domain warfare.
- Unveiled the ‘Indian Armed Forces Vision 2047.’
- Key Announcements:

IN & Coratia Technologies Sign Rs 66 Crore Contract for Underwater ROVs
- Odisha-based Coratia Technologiesto supply indigenously-built Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (UWROVs) to the Indian Navy.

WMO 2024 Report: River Basins Struggling
