1. World Environment Day – 5 June 2025
- Observed annually since 1973by UNEP.
- 2025 Theme: Beat Plastic Pollution.
- Host Country: South Korea.
- Adopted at Stockholm Conference (1972).
2. Lavender Festival 2025 – J&K
- Held in Bhaderwah, organized by CSIR-IIIM.
- Part of Purple/Lavender Revolution (2016).
- Generated ₹10.5 crore from lavender oil.
- Over 9,000 trained, 50+ distillation units installed.
3. Two New Ramsar Sites – Rajasthan
- Khichan (Phalodi)and Menar (Udaipur)
- India now has 91 Ramsar sites.
- Ramsar Convention: Signed in 1971, Iran.
- World Wetlands Day: 2 February.
4. Census 2027 Announced
- Includes caste-based enumeration.
- Conducted in two phases.
- Reference Date: 1 March 2027 (most areas), 1 Oct 2026 (snow-bound).
- Governed by Census Act, 1948.
5. Tatkal Ticketing – e-Aadhaar Mandatory
- Aadhaar authentication mandatory for Tatkal booking.
- First 10 minutesreserved for Aadhaar-verified users.
- Aims to curb ticket fraudand ensure genuine access.
6. C CARES 2.0 Portal – Coal Ministry
- Launched for PF & pension digitization.
- Developed by C-DAC & SBI.
- Serves 3 lakh PF subscribers& 6.3 lakh pensioners.
- Initially launched in 5 regional offices.
7. Poland Election 2025
- Karol Nawrockiwon as an independent.
- Defeated Rafal Trzaskowski(Mayor of Warsaw).
- Will replace Andrzej Dudain August.
8. Ayush Nivesh Saarthi Portal Launched
- Launched by Ministry of Ayush + Invest India.
- Promotes FDI and private investmentin Ayush sector.
- Sector grew 17% (2014–2020).
- 100% FDI allowed via automatic route.
9. Flipkart Gets NBFC Licence
- First major Indian e-commerce firmwith NBFC licence.
- Can now directly lendto users via app money.
- Competes with Amazon (awaiting NBFC approval).
10. Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana – HP
- Launched in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
- Promotes afforestation& community participation.
- Linked to Green Adoption Scheme(CSR-based plantation).
- Introduced Van Mitra Yojanato fill forest staff gaps.
