1) Know About: Bharat Electronics Limited
- Bharat Electronics Limited is an Indian Government-owned aerospace and defence electronics company.
- It primarily manufactures advanced electronic products for ground and aerospace applications.
- BEL is one of the nine PSUs under the Ministry of Defence of India.
- It has been granted Navratna status by the Government of India.

2) New species of honey bee spotted after 200 years in Western Ghats
- Researchers from Kerala have discovered a new species of honey bee that is endemic to the Western Ghats.
- The species, discovered after a gap of over 200 years, has been named Apis karinjodian, with the common name, ‘Indian black honey bee’
- The honey bee last discovered from India was Apis indica which was identified in 1798 by Fabricius.
3) Anthropological Survey of India builds tribal hut replicas
- Anthropological Survey of India (ANSI) has recreated the huts of several tribal communities at its different regional centres.
- This is a first-of-its-kind bid to showcase the heritage of tribal communities, especially those of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
- The huts are not only authentic in design but also contains artefacts which the tribals use.
4) India participating in World Travel Market in London
- India is participating in the World Travel Market (WTM) 2022 in London from 7 Nov’22 which is one of the largest international travel exhibitions.
- The theme for 2022 is the Future of Travel – Starts Now.
- During the 3-day exhibition, 16 stakeholders, including State Governments, Central Ministries, and tour operators, among others are participating as co-exhibitors in the India Pavilion.
5) Know About: CV Raman
- CV Raman was an Indian physicist known for his work in the field of light scattering.
- Using a spectrograph that he developed, he discovered that when light traverses a transparent material, the deflected light changes its wavelength and frequency.
- This phenomenon was termed the Raman effect.
- He received the 1930 Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery and was the first Asian to receive it.
6) Know About: Anthropological Survey of India
- Anthropological Survey of India is the apex Indian government organisation involved in anthropological studies and field data research for human and cultural aspects.
- It works primarily in the fields of physical anthropology and cultural anthropology.

7) Know About: Panama Canal
- The Panama Canal is an artificial 82 km waterway in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean and divides North and South America.
- The canal cuts across the Isthmus of Panama.
- It was one of the largest and most difficult engineering projects ever undertaken.
- The American Society of Civil Engineers has ranked the Panama Canal one of the seven wonders of the modern world.
8) National Cancer Awareness Day: 7th November
- November 7th is observed annually as National Cancer Awareness Day in India to raise awareness about cancer.
- It was first announced in 2014 by Govt, with Nov 7 chosen for the occasion to coincide with the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Marie Curie.
- Marie Curie’s works led to the development of radiotherapy to treat cancer.
- National Cancer Control Programme was started in India in 1975.
9) Russia becomes India’s top oil supplier in October
- Russia has become India’s top oil supplier in Oct 2022, surpassing traditional sellers Saudi Arabia & Iraq.
- Russia, which made up for just 0.2% of all oil imported by India in the year to March 31, 2022, supplied 9,35,556 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil to India in Oct – the highest ever.
- It now makes up for 22% of India’s total crude imports, ahead of Iraq’s 20.5% and Saudi Arabia’s 16%.
10) Reliance is India’s best employer; in top 20 worldwide: Forbes report
- Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has emerged India’s best employer and the world’s 20th best firm to work with, according to Forbes’ World’s Best Employers rankings 2022.
- With 230,000 employees, Reliance is the only Indian company in the top 100.
- The global ranking was topped by South Korea’s Samsung Electronics, followed by US’ Microsoft, IBM, Alphabet and Apple.
11) Education Ministry to celebrate ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ on Nov 15
- Education Ministry will celebrate ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ on 15th Nov in schools & higher educational institutions across the country.
- In 2021, Union govt had declared 15th Nov as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ dedicated to the memory of brave tribal freedom fighters.
- 15th Nov is also the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, a freedom fighter, social reformer & revered tribal leader of the country.
12) Infant Protection Day: 7th November
- The Infant Protection Day is observed annually on November 7th.
- This day is celebrated to spread awareness about the measures to be taken to save the lives of infants and provide sufficient protection and care.
- The infant mortality rate in India in 2022 is 27.695 deaths per 1000 live births.
- Infants are newborn babies around the age of 0 to a year.

14) Know About: Janjatiya Gaurav Divas
- The Union Cabinet in 2021 approved 15th November as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ to commemorate the brave tribal freedom fighters of the country.
- 15th Nov also marks the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda who is revered as God by tribal communities across India.
- He spearheaded an Indian tribal religious Millenarian movement during British rule in the late 19th century.
15) Know About: Yucatán Channel
- The Yucatán Channel is a strait between Mexico and Cuba.
- It connects the Yucatán Basin of the Caribbean Sea with the Gulf of Mexico.
- It is just over 200 kilometres wide and nearly 2,800 metres deep at its deepest point near the coast of Cuba.
- A powerful current runs through the channel from south to north, resulting in the piling up of water and a rise in the level of the Gulf of Mexico.
