1) Union Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurates sixth edition of Ganga Utsav
- Union Minister for Culture, Tourism & DONER, G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the sixth edition of Ganga Utsav 2022 in New Delhi on 4 Nov’22.
- The Ganga Utsav, is being developed as a model for River Festivals with the aim to connect people to the rivers.
- One of its main objectives is to celebrate rivers and spread awareness on the significance of river rejuvenation across river basins in India.
2) Benjamin Netanyahu makes comeback as Israel’s PM
- A coalition led by the former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has won 64 seats in the 120-seat Israeli parliament Knesset, allowing him to return to power.
- His opponent, PM Yair Lapid’s coalition, won 51 seats.
- Earlier, Netanyahu served as the prime minister of Israel from 1996 to 1999 & again from 2009 to 2021.
- He was ousted from power in June 2021 on charges of bribery & fraud.
3) Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab top 2020-21 Performing Grade Index
- Kerala, Maharashtra, and Punjab have topped the 2020-21 Performing Grade Index (PGI) that assesses school education at the district level.
- Arunachal Pradesh emerged as the least performing in the seventh slot.
- PGI analyses the school education on 70 indicators grouped under outcomes and governance management categories.
- It was released by the Union education ministry on 3rd Nov 2022.
4) Indonesia hands over G20 Religion Forum presidency to India
- Indonesia on 3rd Nov 2022 handed over the Presidency of the R20 summit, the religious grouping of the G20, to India which New Delhi will host in 2023.
- R20 is part of a series of G20 events initiated under Indonesia’s G20 Presidency.
- It is being held from Nov 2-3 in Bali, Indonesia to mobilize global leaders to help ensure that religion functions as an open and dynamic source of solutions.
5) Indian men’s squash team win their first ever gold medal
- In Squash, Indian men’s team clinched their first-ever gold at the Asian Squash Team Championships, on 4 November 2022.
- They defeated Kuwait in the final in straight sets in Cheongju, South Korea.
- It is the biggest win of Indian Men’s Team since they won 2014 Asian Games Gold.
- The Indian men’s team has won three silver medals in the Asian Team Squash Championships and seven bronze medals.
6) ‘Permacrisis’ is Collins Dictionary’s word of the year 2022
- Collins Dictionary has announced that its word of the year 2022 is “permacrisis.”
- The word indicates an era of instability & insecurity.
- It indicates the ongoing Ukraine War, the consequent rise in the cost of living & the political upheaval the world has witnessed in 2022.
- Collins Dictionary is published by HarperCollins in Glasgow.

- More than 90 heads of state & representatives of 190 countries are expected to attend.
- The 2021 Conference was held in Glasgow, Scotland.
