1) Jais, the world’s most advanced Arabic Large Language Model, released
- Inception, a unit of Abu Dhabi Al company G42, has released ‘Jais’, the world’s most advanced Arabic large language model.
- Jais is a bilingual Arabic-English model that has been trained on a massive dataset of text and code.
- It can be used for machine translation, and question answering.
- Jais is open-source, which means that anyone can use it or contribute to its development.
2) Govt launches invoice incentive scheme to improve tax compliance
- The government has launched the ‘mera bill mera adhikaar’ scheme to promote invoice usage and offer incentives to consumers.
- The scheme is currently implemented in Haryana, Assam, Gujarat, and certain union territories.
- Consumers have a chance to win cash prizes ranging from ₹10,000 to 1 crore by participating in the scheme.
- Invoices above 200 are eligible for the scheme.
3) Actor R Madhavan nominated as President of FTII
- Actor R Madhavan is nominated as the new President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, and chairman of the governing council.
- FTII has played a significant role in shaping the Indian film and television industry.
- Some of the famous personalities produced by FTII are Rajkumar Hirani, Mani Kaul, Shyam Benegal, Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, and Om Puri.
4) Bajaj Allianz Life launches ULIP fund with dynamic asset allocation
- Bajaj Allianz Life introduces a unique fund proposition in the Unit Linked Insurance Plan (ULIP) segment.
- Dynamic Asset Allocation Fund offers customers the opportunity to allocate between equity and debt.
- The asset allocation of the fund is more dynamic/active in nature.
- The fund is based on an in-house quantitative model with limited qualitative input from the fund manager.
5) RBI Governor rated ‘A+’ in Global Finance Central Banker Report 2023
- Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has been rated ‘A+’ in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023.
- Das has been placed at the top of the list of three central bank governors who have been rated A.
- The report has been published annually by Global Finance since 1994.
- Shaktikanta Das, Thomas J. Jordan (Switzerland), Nguyen Thi Hong (Vietnam) earned an ‘A+’ grade.
6) Amit Shah launches “Amrit Kalash Yatra” under ‘Meri Maati-Mera Desh’
- Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, launched the Amrit Kalash Yatra under the ‘Meri Mati-Mera Desh’ campaign in New Delhi.
- The campaign aims to connect every citizen emotionally with the idea of creating a greater India.
- The Amritkal and “Sankalp Se Siddhi” initiatives will put India at the forefront in every field globally by August 15, 2047.
7) Jyotiraditya M Scindia inaugurates International Aerospace Conference
- Jyotiraditya M Scindia inaugurated the International Aerospace Conference, focusing on developing inclusive global value chains in the aerospace sector.
- The conference is a G20 initiative aimed at promoting trade and investment among G20 countries.
- The Conference will feature discussions on global value chains, and aerospace manufacturing.
