1) India Navy conducts maritime exercise with Singapore at Visakhapatnam

  • The Indian Navy is hosting 29th edition the Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) from 26-30 Oct’22 Visakhapatnam.
  • SIMBEX – 2022 is being conducted in 2 Phase – Harbour Phase at Visakhapatnam 26 to 27 October 2022 followed Sea Phase Bay Bengal from 30 Oct.
  • SIMBEX series of exercise began in 1994 and were initially known Exercise Lion King.

 

2) Indian scientists develop first indigenous Overhauser Magnetometer

  • Scientists at the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Mumbai have developed an indigenous Overhauser Magnetometer (OM).
  • OM is one of the most accurate magnetometers extensively used by magnetic observatories around the world.
  • It has been installed at Alibag Magnetic Observatory,
  • It will help reduce India’s dependence on commercial magnetometers for performing geomagnetic field measurements.

4) Fiji to host 12th World Hindi Conference in 2023

  • Fiji will be hosting the 12th World Hindi Conference next year from Feb 15-17, 2023,
  • With this, Fiji will become the first country in the Pacific to hold the World Hindi Conference.
  • The 3-day conference would be held in the Fijian city of Nadi,
  • EAM S Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation for the Conference.
  • Fijian Hindi is enshrined in the constitution of Fiji as an official language.
