1) The Maharaja Sayajirao University to host Youth 20 India Summit

  • The Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara will host a two-day Youth20 India Summit on 25 February 2023, with a focus on the theme of climate change and environmental conservation.
  • More than 600 delegates from 62 countries participate to discuss ‘Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making sustainability a Way of Life!
  • It will be inaugurated by Bhupendra Patel, CM of Gujarat.

 

2) Union government approves renaming of Aurangabad & Osmanabad

  • Maharashtra’s Aurangabad and Osmanabad have been renamed as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Dharashiv respectively.
  • The decision to rename the cities was taken by the Maharashtra government On July 16, 2022.
  • The Ministry of Home Affairs on 24 February 2023 approved the proposal.
  • Osmanabad derives its name from the last ruler of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan.

 

3) IRCTC to operate Baba Saheb Ambedkar Yatra tour package in April 2023

  • Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will be operating the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Yatra tour package under the “Dekho Apna Desh” initiative in April 2023 from New Delhi.
  • It will cover some of the prominent sites associated with the life of Dr. BR Ambedkar.
  • Under the “Dekho Apna Desh” initiative, the Ministry of Railways is operating Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains across India.

5) World Book Fair 2023 to begin on 25 February in New Delhi

  • The 9-day mega book fair will be held from 25th February to 5th March, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
  • It is being organised by National Book Trust, an autonomous organization of the Government of India under the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with India Trade Promotion Organization.
  • The book display will also include titles on topics such as history, art and culture.

 

6) APEDA signs MoU with Lulu group for export promotion of millets

  • The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) signed an MoU with Lulu Hypermarket LLC for the export promotion of millets in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on February 21, 2023.
  • As per the MoU, the Lulu Group will facilitate promotional activities for millet products and enable the country to display millets and its value-added products.
