10) PM Modi to inaugurate 9 Vande Bharat Express trains on 24 September

  • Mithun is a culturally significant bovine species found in Northeast, with deep cultural and ritual significance in the northeastern states.
  • Mithun meat has a low-fat content, making it a potential premium meat product.
  • Mithun is considered the state animal of Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland.

 

13) India becomes No.1 team in all formats after defeating Australia

  • India’s win against Australia made them the number 1 ranked team in all three formats of the game.
  • India surpassed Pakistan in the ODI rankings to become the No 1 ODI team with a rating of 116 and 4,864 points.
  • Australia dropped 2 points to 111 after their loss against India, and they remain 3rd in the ODI rankings.
  • In the T20 rankings, India is on top with a rating of 264 and 15589 points.

 

14) International Day of Sign Languages: 23 September

  • International Day of Sign Languages is an annual event that promotes the linguistic and cultural diversity of deaf communities.

15) Lucknow will host the 20th National Book Fair

  • The 20th National Book Fair would be held from September 22 to October 2 in the Balrampur Garden in Lucknow.
  • The 11-day book festival will include events such as book launches, author meetings, Kavi Sammelan, Mushaira, and youth and children’s programmes. The 20th National Book Fair will be conducted under the theme of ‘Gyan Kumbh,’ with free admission and a minimum 10% discount on books.

 

16) RBI issued guidelines to identify wilful default in six months

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued draft guidelines on classification of wilful defaulters, which expands the definition of the term.
  • The new draft provisions would apply to banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), and all-India financial institutions.
  • Borrowers can be labelled as wilful defaulters for defaulting on repayments despite having the capacity to make them.
