1) PM Modi to attend Scindia School event at Gwalior in MP
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in a programme marking the celebration of 125th foundation day of the Scindia School in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior.
- The Scindia School was established in 1897 by the then Gwalior royalty and is located atop the historic Gwalior fort.
- PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of a multipurpose sports complex in the school and will present annual award.
2) MID-PLANNING CONFERENCE FOR MULTILATERAL NAVAL EXERCISE (MILAN) – 24
- The Mid Planning Conference (MPC) of MILAN 24 (Multilateral Naval Exercise – 2024), to be hosted by the Indian Navy at Visakhapatnam from 19 – 27 Feb 24, was conducted by the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) with participating friendly foreign Navies over video conference.
- The Flagship event, MILAN is a biennial multilateral naval exercise, which was incepted by the Indian Navy in 1995.
3) Riyadh Summit: Gulf Cooperation Council and ASEAN nation relationship
- The leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Association of Southeast Asian States (ASEAN) gathered in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince.
- All GCC countries have agreed to join the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation with ASEAN,signifying their dedication to strengthening ties.
4) Justice Siddharth Mridul swears in as 7th CJ of Manipur High Court
- Justice Siddharth Mridul was sworn in as the seventh Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
- The Governor Sushri Anusuiya Uikey administered the oath of office to Justice Siddharth Mridul in the swearing-in ceremony held at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Imphal.
5) Uttarakhand CM launches deposit-linked loan scheme of Cooperative Bank
- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched a deposit-linked loan scheme of the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank.
- The deposit-linked loan scheme, ‘Sapno Ka Sanchay’, is an initiative for students in the age group of 10 to 18 years.
- Every year, the savings account balance will shift to a Term Deposit account and would fetch Term Deposit Interest for the student.
6) APAAR: ‘One Nation, One ID’ to be rolled out for students
- The Union Education Ministry has introduced the concept of ‘One Nation, One Student ID,‘ referred to as APAAR ID, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- The APAAR ID, which stands for ‘Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry,’ is a digital identification system for students in India.
- The APAAR ID is an education ecosystem registry system known as ‘EduLocker’.
7) MeitY Secretary S Krishnan launches “Made-In-India” Charger
- Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Shri S Krishnan has witnessed the launch of indigenous Technology of 2KW DC Portable Charger developed by Centre of Excellence at IIT Madras Research Park to help Boost Electric Vehicle Adoption.
- These chargers sporting an efficiency of >95% and functioning at a maximum operating ambient of 50 Degree Celsius.
8) Gaganyaan TV DI mission called off temporarily
- Gaganyaan TV DI mission has been called off temporarily and the mission will be launched at a later date.
- The Gaganyaan project’s vision is to demonstrate the capability of human spaceflight by launching a crew of three members into a 400 km orbit for a 3-day mission and safely bringing them back to earth by landing in Indian waters.
9) Mizoram: Two-day-long Anthurium Festival begins
- In Mizoram, a two-day-long Anthurium Festival began with all festivities and enthusiasm at Reiek in Mamit District.
- The festival is being organized by the Department of Tourism of Mizoram.
- Anthurium Festival is an occasion of joy and a platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Mizo people.
10) India-Sri Lanka ferry service restarted after 40 yrs
- The historic sea route between India and Sri Lanka has been revived with the launch of a passenger ferry service connecting Nagapattinam (India) and Kankesanthurai (Sri Lanka), approx. 110 Km distance, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations, promoting tourism, and boosting local trade.
- Named ‘Cheriyapani,’ the service rekindles maritime links dating back to the early 1900s.
11) World’s 1st Gender Balance Framework for the 4th Industrial Revolution
- The world’s inaugural framework for gender balance in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) took center stage at the ‘Gender Balance and 4IR’ workshop, held as part of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils in Dubai.
- The ‘Gender Balance and 4IR’ workshop was inaugurated by Her Excellency Huda Al Hashemi.
