  • Australia’s Sydney Opera House—designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1973.
  • Libyan de facto leader Muammar al-Qaddafi was killed by rebel forces.
  • Blue Stream, the deepest underwater pipeline in the world, opened in Turkey and was put in use for the transport of natural gas.
  • France and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey signed the Treaty of Ankara.

 

1) UAE: Dubai’s Global Village Season 28

  • Dubai’s Global Village, the renowned multicultural family destination that brings together culture, entertainment, dining, shopping, and attractions, kicked off its 28th season, promising visitors a “More Wonderful World.”
  • Following a record-breaking 27th season that attracted 9 million visitors, Global Village returns with an even more extensive array of attractions.

 

2) Odisha to promote maize cultivation

  • The Odisha Government has decided to launch a programme to enhance the acreage under maize cultivation, introducing superior varieties of the grain.
  • The scheme – Mukhyamantri Maka Mission (MMM) – will be implemented in a “more scientific and progressive way”.
  • The government will also work on increasing the productivity of pulses, oilseeds, fibre crops (cotton and jute) besides maize.

 

3) Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurates project “Heartland Tripura”

  • In a bid to enhance the employability and skills of the youth of Tripura, a project named “Heartland Tripura” was launched, in partnership with Deloitte India and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Agartala.
  • Furthermore, Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurated the ceremony in Agartala where Deloitte India and NIELIT – Agartala signed an agreement.

 

4) J&K: Motivational event – ‘A Life of Happiness’ in Srinagar

  • Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the Motivational event – ‘A Life of Happiness’ organized by Inner Space Centre at University of Kashmir in Srinagar.
  • He maintained that one moment can turn into 365 days, 24×7 happiness when people follow their creativity, passion and are in charge of their life instead of others.

 

5) CBSE develops Vidya Samiksha Software- Saagar se Saraansh

  • The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has developed Vidya Samiksha Software- Saagar se Saraansh as part of the Vidya Samiksha Kendra for amplifying data-based decision-making.
  • Vidya Samiksha Software of CBSE aims to leverage data and technology to bring a big leap in decision-making and governance.
  • This software covers data from more than 28 thousand CBSE schools.

 

6) Construction of Veterinary Science College to start in Gorakhpur

  • The construction of the proposed Veterinary Science College in Gorakhpur is set to start with the chief minister Yogi Adityanath issuing instructions in this regard.
  • This college, set to be established in Gorakhpur, will be affiliated to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Sciences University and Cow Research Institute in Mathura.

 

7) FICCI releases its report on SMEs in India

  • The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry released its report on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in India in New Delhi.
  • The report highlights how SMEs are adapting to the digital transformation, adopting sustainability practices and challenges.
  • The report states an increase in adopting technology.
  • The report is based on a nationwide survey of more than 600 SMEs.

 

8) Formula E will return to Hyderabad in season 2024

  • Hyderabad and Shanghai have been confirmed as host cities in Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, following approval at the FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting.
  • However, the organisers announced that Hyderabad, which made debut on the calender this year, will host a race on February 10, next year.

 

9) ADAS Show to be held on 7th of December at ICAT Track in Gurugram

  • The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems ( ADAS) Show organised by the International Centre for Automotive Technology will be held on the 7th of December at ICAT Track in Gurugram.
  • Director Of ICAT Saurabh Dalela said the Show will bring together the brightest minds in the automotive industry to share knowledge, demonstrate innovations, and discuss the future of ADAS technology.

 

10) Indian Chess Grandmaster Karthikeyan Murali beats Magnus Carlsen

  • In Qatar Masters, the 24-year-old Indian chess grandmaster, Karthikeyan Murali, became the third Indian player to beat the world’s number one player, Magnus Carlsen in classical chess. Karthikeyan Murali is the third Indian after Harikrishna and Viswanathan Anand to have beaten Carlsen.
  • He joins the remarkable club of score 5.5 out of 7.

 

11) J&K: First Vistadome train services in Kashmir

  • Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the much-awaited Vistadome train services in Kashmir.
  • Union Minister and Chief Ministers of Assam and Tripura joined the ceremony through video-conferencing.
  • Later, the Lt Governor flagged off the first Vistadome coach train to Banihal from Srinagar Station.
