1) IndusInd Bank goes live with RuPay Credit Card on UPI
- IndusInd Bank goes live with RuPay Credit Card on UPI with the launch of ‘IndusInd Bank Platinum RuPay Credit Card’, in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India.
- With the integration of IndusInd Bank’s RuPay credit card on UPI, individuals can make transactions seamlessly on both online and offline platforms and earn accelerated rewards on their UPI transactions.

- It’s a challenge to be an international student abroad.

3) Indian e-commerce exports to touch $200 bn in next 6-7 years: DGFT
- Santosh Kumar Sarangi, DG, DGFT, mentioned that the growth will be supported by significant product diversity, product innovation, and the ability of Indian entrepreneurs to understand the requirements of specific markets and offer customised products.
- DG, DGFT also emphasised that consistency and transparency are crucial for achieving growth in the sector.
4) Bina Agarwal and David Barkin conferred 2023 Kenneth Boulding Award
- Bina Agarwal, a professor at the University of Manchester, received the Kenneth Boulding Award in Ecological Economics along with David Barkin in Colombia.
- The International Society for Ecological Economics presented the award for their significant contributions to ecological economics, focusing on environmental governance, agrarian change, and social equity in developing countries.
5) World Day of Healing from Child Abuse 2023: 18th November
- The United Nations has designatedNovember 18 as the “World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence.“
- According to UN, 1 in 4 children aged under 5 years live with a mother who is a victim of intimate partner violence.
- The theme for the day in 2023 is “Prevention, protection, and healing.”
6) Cornerstone unveils the 2023 Talent Health Index Report
- Cornerstone OnDemand, Inc. a leader in learning and talent experience solutions announced the release of its 2023 Talent Health Index: India edition.
- The report reveals that the majority of organizations in India have the crucial need for organizations to construct a comprehensive talent strategy aimed at bridging the workforce skills gap and adapting to sweeping workplace changes.
7) GAIL wins two awards at the Asian Oil and Gas Awards event
- GAIL has got the Asian Oil and Gas Awards for reduction in LNG shipping cost and emissions and for the installation of the first floating Compressed Natural Gas station at Varanasi.
- “Midstream Project of the Year – India” award and “The Innovation Award – India” has been bagged by Gas Authority of India Limited.
8) J&K: Authorities to provide five marla land to 17000 landless people
- Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke at the Janjatiya Gaurav Saptah programme in Jammu.
- He iterated that those eligible will be provided with 5 marlas of land by the administration under thePradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana.
- Especially, Gujjar Bakerwals, Gaddi, and Sippis will be given their 10% reservation on priority basis.
9) Haryana law providing 75% job quota for locals quashed
- In a setback to the Manohar Lal Khattar government, its law providing 75% reservation in private sector jobs to the residents of the state was quashed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court which declared it “unconstitutional”.
- Justices G S Sandhawalia and Harpreet Kaur Jeewan also held the Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020 “ultravires.”
10) India 2nd favourite among Asian fund managers after Japan: BofA Global
- India is the second-favourite among fund managers in Asia, with 28 percent being ‘overweight’ on the country and 55 percent on Japan, according to a survey by BofA Global Research.
- Indonesia has come a far third with only 8 percent fund managers being ‘overweight’ on the country, and the fourth spot has gone to Singapore, while Taiwan has bagged 5 percent ‘overweight’.
11) 18th November: Indian Army celebrated the 243th Corps of Engineers Day
- Indian Army is celebrating the 243th Corps of Engineers Day.
- Chief of the Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande has conveyed best wishes to all ranks, veterans and families of the Corps on the occasion.
- The Corps of Engineers had three groups, i.e. Madras Sappers, Bengal Sappers and Bombay Sappers which were amalgamated into the Corps on the 18th of November 1932.
12) Culture Ministry organizes India Art Architecture biennale at Red Fort
- The Culture Ministry will organize India Art, Architecture, and Design Biennale at Red Fort to provide a global platform for the promotion of arts and the artist fraternity.
- The Biennale will be inaugurated on 8th of next month and several events will be held from 9th to 15th of December.
- Public art installations, art bazaars & cultural programs will be the major attractions of the Biennale.
13) Vice president released a book on Indian Maritime Security
- The book ‘Building Partnerships: India and International Cooperation for Maritime Security‘ is authored byCaptain Himadri Das.
- Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar released this book at the “Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue” at Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on November 15.
- Himadri Das is pursuing PhD in Defence and Strategic Studies from Naval War College, is an officer of Indian Navy.
