1) Know About: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the national space agency of India.
- ISRO performs tasks related to space-based applications & space exploration.
- It operates under the Department of Space which is directly overseen by the Prime Minister of India.
- It has sent two missions to the Moon and one to Mars.

2) HDFC Life launches Click2Protect Super term insurance policy
- HDFC Life has launched a term insurance plan Click2Protect Super, which enables customisation as per protection needs.
- The plan provides comprehensive financial protection for the family.
- One can choose a cover as per requirement from among 3 plan options – Life, Life Plus & Life Goal.
- HDFC Life is a long-term life insurance provider with its headquarters in Mumbai.

3) IIT-Madras signs pact with University of Sydney
- IIT-Madras & University of Sydney have entered into a research partnership to help address the energy challenges facing nations across the world.
- The partnership will see each of the institutions investing AU$50,000 a year in joint funding for up to four research projects.
- Experts from both institutions will work together to develop research & advanced technology in fields related to energy.
4) AllA launches Ayurveda Day 2022 programme
- All India Institute of Ayurveda (AILA) has launched Ayurveda Day 2022 programme.
- The six-week long programme will continue till 23 October 2022.
- Ministry of AYUSH celebrates Ayurveda Day every year on Dhanvantari Jayanti and this year (2022) it will be celebrated on 23 October.
- The theme for the celebration is ‘Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda!

5) Hughes announces high-speed satellite internet service with ISRO
- Hughes Communications India has announced the launch of its first high throughput satellite (HTS) broadband internet service in India.
- The service will offer satellite internet to remote locations across India and will use the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)’s GSAT-11 & GSAT-29 satellites.
- Hughes is a joint venture entity of US-based Hughes Network Systems and Bharti Airtel.
5) Meity Startup Hub & Meta collaborate to accelerate XR tech startups
- Meity Startup Hub in collaboration with Meta will launch a program to support and accelerate XR technology startups across India.
- This collaboration is part of the Govt’s efforts for skilling in emerging & future technologies.
- The Meity Startup Hub, an initiative of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), is a national platform focused on promoting technology innovation.
6) American Express India appoints Sanjay Khanna as CEO
- American Express Corp on 12 September 2022 appointed Sanjay Khanna as the chief executive officer & country manager for India.
- Khanna currently heads the executive team & is responsible for driving growth across the organization’s consumer & commercial businesses.
- American Express is an American multinational corporation specialising in payment card services.

7) Kibithu Military Garrison named after Bipin Rawat
- The Kibithu Military Garrison in Arunachal Pradesh has been renamed as ‘General Bipin Rawat Military Garrison’ in honour of India’s first Chief of Defence Staff.
- As a Colonel, General Rawat commanded his battalion, the 5th battalion of the 11 Gorkha Rifles, in 1999-2000 at Kibithu.
- General Rawat passed away along with his wife and 12 military personnel in a chopper crash in December 2021.
8) Indian Army & Indian Air force conduct joint exercise ‘Gagan Strike’
- Indian Army’s Kharga Corps & Indian Air Force conducted a joint exercise ‘Gagan Strike’ in Punjab to showcase the might & prowess of the armed forces.
- The exercise, conducted over 4 days, showcased precision firepower by attack helicopters in coordination with ground forces.
- Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding, Kharga Corps spearheaded this exercise.
9) World’s largest museum of Harappan culture to be set up in Haryana
- The world’s largest museum of Harappan culture will be set up in Haryana’s Rakhigarhi village.
- The village of Rakhigarhi was part of the Indus Valley Civilisation from 2600-1900 BC.
- The museum will display some 5000-year-old Indus Valley artefacts.
- It was in 1963 that the ASI first started digging up the village.
