1) Min. of Power & Min. of Envt to develop Carbon Credit Trading Scheme

  • The Ministry of Power and Ministry of Environment will develop Carbon Credit Trading Scheme for Decarbonisation.
  • Government plans to develop the Indian Carbon Market with the objective to decarbonize the Indian economy by pricing the Green House Gas emission through trading of Carbon Credit Certificates.

 

2) International Nurses Day

  • International Nurses Day is an international day observed around the world on 12 May
  • The first International Nurses day was observed in 1965.
  • Florence Nightingale was a British Nurse and was the founder of Modern Nursing.
  • She was the first woman who was awarded the Order of Merit in 1907.

 

3) Monkeypox No Longer A Global Health Emergency: WHO

  • The World Health Organization declared that mpox no longer constitutes a global health emergency
  • The decision was prompted by falling case numbers worldwide, but emphasised that the disease remains a threat, particularly in areas of Africa where it has long been present.
  • Earlier, UN agency also declared that Covid-19 no longer constitutes a public health emergency

 

4) MyGov, in collaboration with IHM, Pusa launches YUVA PRATIBHA

  • MyGov, in collaboration with IHM, Pusa
  • launched ‘YUVA PRATIBHA – Culinary Talent Hunt’.
  • Its aim is to create awareness and increase the production and consumption of millet, the year 2023 has been declared as the ‘International Year of the Millets’ by the United Nations, following a proposal by India, to position itself as a global hub for millet.

 

5) Rashtriya Ispat Nigam – launches “Open challenge programme (OCP) 2.0′

  • Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL launched ‘Open challenge progam 2.0’
  • The program is the second program in the series of OCP programs that are being launched by Kalpataru-CoE (Centre of entrepreneurship).
  • This open challenge program is for selecting the startups in the field of Industry 4.0 technologies.

 

6) RR’s Yashasvi Jaiswal smashes fastest fifty in IPL history

  • Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal broke the record for slamming the fastest fifty in the history of IPL.
  • The 21-year-old reached his half-century off 13 deliveries against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
  • The previous record was jointly held by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins, who had taken 14 deliveries each.

  • These malicious apps are designed to extract sensitive information, including user credentials and 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) codes.

  • RR leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal created history by becoming the highest wicket-taker in IPL.
  • He achieved this feat by dismissing KKR captain Nitish Rana in their IPL 2023 match Chahal took his tally of wickets in IPL to 184.
  • He overtook Dwayne Bravo, who was the previous highest wicket-taker in IPL with 183 scalps.

 

10) CDS awards unit citations to 3 Tri-service units

  • General Anil Chauhan, conferred CDS Unit Citations award to the Strategic Forces Command, College of Defence Management, Secunderabad & 2 PARA (Special Forces) for their exemplary performance for the Year 2021-22
  • The CDS unit citations award was constituted after the establishment of the Office of Chief of the Defence Staff in 2019 to boost jointness and integration in the Armed Forces.

 

11) Suniel Shetty launches food delivery app Waayu

  • Actor Suniel Shetty has been roped in as a brand ambassador and investor in a new venture, ‘Waayu’, a food delivery app
  • The app aims to help hotels and restaurants to log orders for food delivery without any commission.
  • The app claims to be 15% to 20% less expensive than aggregators like Swiggy or Zomato.
